It kind of bugs me that shock never got any love when syphon got a boost. I thought that shock was in just as bad of shape as syphon was before syphon got help.

Of the 4 factions with shields (not counting E-Rep and Echelon) Dark Matter and Grid have too much health for me to consider a shock weapon against them. 99ers have less health, and shock can be a decent nano to use against them, but other nanos can work just as well against them especially in combination with flashbang grenades.

Volge do have some pretty big shields at high threat levels. But again I'd rather have flashbangs in that situation to get that extra DMG against shields instead of gimping myself with a shock weapon. And I tried the Fire/Shock weapon combo for some time in the Volge sieges. Wasn't a fan... armor plates are still a problem... even when you are critting as much as possible.

I don't know if they should remove the penalty entirely (there is a perk that gives 15% extra DMG to health with shock weapons). But the penalty should be reduced imo.

Yes it can. If its hot enough, fire can be nasty indeed.

Thoughts? What else do you think could be done to have use for electrical weapons?
    Least favorite??

I find it very handy to have a Tachmag pulsar with the electric mag, and a regular SMG as my second weapon. Use the electric SMG to wittle down shields, and finish them off with a fire nano SMG. Shielded enemies such as Volge and Dark Matter are tedious enough already.

Electric all is the sad sack nano in the game for obvious reasons.
Any rad/other nano combo will outperform simply because of their bonus effects.
I do wish electrical had a bonus like fire/rad/bio.
I have my EMC XAR-22 still. In the vain hope that it's nano gets a little love.
It does strip shields fast; but once they are gone, it just feels like it has been cut off at the barrel...

In Defiance lore I can understand how Electric can take out (short out even) enemy shields. Now to fix the issue but still keep it in the general lore of the game:

Now Armor Plates are made of metal correct? And metal is a highly conductive to electricity correct? So wouldn't it make sense that Electric Nano bypass some of the armor plates? (Or at least damage armor plates)? So my suggestion:

In addition to current set up let the Electric nano bypass 1.0-1.5 armor plates. Similar to radiation.

    Or

In addition to current set up let Electric do 50% of damage to armor plates . Which is not as good as Bio (125%) but gives Electric additional utility greater than the other nanos versus armor plates (10%).

    These ideas have merit.

good idea, but you have to think about the available number of perks / loadout.
if you want to increase the effeciency of nano by perks, you have to use at least 6 slots...

They could be using ceramic or poly armors which are completely resistant to electricity.
