Ok so it seems I might be the only one to bring this up but sorting through a whole inventory looking at similar weapons to identify a match for the synergy you need seems to me the most time consuming exercise of the entire game.

Example pistol cannoneer...check....
matching weapon......hang on give me a minute.......I know it's here....whoa was it that one?...no....ok more scrolling.... maybe this one nope, I don't feel like using an infector for this.....next hey an smg....nope want range..... there it is the lmg one with double mag and the right synergy.

Now if we could just have a quick sort through weapons by synergy it can be so much quicker and, as the final element of the game Defiance seems to be the weapon chase surely a little Database tweak would fix this. Now I know there's going to be somebody who says "It's not a problem", that's YOU I'm hoping to make it easy with just a simple option like "compare" is.

I don't think you have to worry about naysayers on this one, it has been requested many times. Almost as many times as having the synergies of installed mods show I think.

If items cannot be sorted by synergy, at least list the synergy on the long empty section of line between the name and the star (even if it is only visible with the lines at full width with the comparison shut down). The system as it is should be regulated by the medical association, it is more of a carpal tunnel hazard than shooting the guns.

What inventory improvements are planned?

We have a few inventory changes in the works.

1. (Complete) Salvage Matrix access from Inventory – access all salvage matrix actions directly from the inventory screen.
2. (In Progress) Synergy labels and icons in Inventory – Appending synergy names to the items which have them as well as an icon to indicate whether that synergy is a loadout synergy or a mod synergy.
3. (Not Started) Tabbed Inventory menu – Adds tabs for different kinds of items based on weapon type, shields, consumables, etc.

How about giving us the option to sort the inventory as we see fit.I tried the favorites system and it still drives me nuts that in order to break down or vender inventory you have to scroll all the way down.this is a huge pain especially if your in the middle of a battle and you want the loot before it disappears.give us the ability to sort it as we see fit and new stuff top or bottom our choice.I waste hours looking at inventory screen as it is deciding what to keep and what to get rid of

um you only need to match backpack syn to get them to work. you know this right? all syns with 4 perks work/light up from mods no matching weapons needed

If you watched the livestream, you have little to worry about at this point. We'll be seeing two different types of icons showing up in inventory, denoting the two types of synergy and apparently what type or somesuch. (The symbols were the obvious thing when they showed the new inventory layout.)

These issues are by far my biggest complaint of the game!

My work around for your issue,
choose any weapon in your current equipped layout and unfavorite it, close layout and reopen, go as if to switch the equipped weapon you will automatically be at the bottom with the rest of the unfavorited items, don't forget to refavorite your equipped eventually.

Weapon(Backpack) synergies require two weapons with the same synergy to be equipped in the same loadout for the bonus to apply.

Mod synergies require mods of the same synergy attached to a weapon with that synergy for the bonus to apply.

Weapon and Shield (Backpack) synergies require a weapon or shield with the same synergy to be equipped in the same loadout for the bonus to apply.
