    Could be. And ya, PTS is PC, and it looks like the dev team plays on PC, so what the consoles experience is possibly not the *exact* experience they intend. I really enjoy the angle game -- always have. There used to be a cannon game on Atari {?} where you'd cut away at bunkers and such. Always won by angles. Loved it. Possibly why I've taken a real liking to Dets. But I like to place my shots on a manual det strategically, and velocity really makes it less accurate... at least on console.

    Ohhhhh scorched earth!!!! brings tears of nostalgy!!!!

    I remember a game, older than personal computers and consoles, which was text based of course (graphics weren't invented yet) It was an indirect fire artillery simulator/trainer, you had to hit enemies in "X,Y" coordinates so you had to set your angle of fire, calculate azymuth, set the power of the charge according to the projectile weight and fire. After a couple of seconds of delay the system would tell you the coordinates of your impact. I used to play this game when i was a child on an IBM s/34

    Ok, now i feel old....

    Defiance is gone. Gamigo has been "not neglecting" the game for over a year, yet there's nothing new except for low effort arkfalls and bitshop items.
    I know it might be hard to quit a game you loved for years but you have to understand that it won't get better. Ever. If you like the game in it's current state, then sure, keep playing it. You're enjoying yourself after all. But if you aren't, don't hope for a better future for Defiance. Because it won't come.

    This is happening, there will be no double rolls on guns soon so every tier roll will be different, my point is that there isn't a lot of available rolls on detonators, quite possibly as little as 6, which makes me wonder if this will cause more dets to roll velocity more often due to the new design.

    Recoil rolls as we know them won't do what the pictures indicate, you would need to add more recoil, and even then the weapon would likely recoil after the shot was fired, I imagine it would take considerable reworking to make it work as per the illustrations in the OP

    I personally don't like what velocity does to a det and would rather not see it as a roll, a 2x velocity mod would be better, that way if you like the velocity you can have it, if you don't like velocity you won't be stuck with it

    As long as the system rolls the highest teir bonus first, it should not affect the odds. If it were the other way around, it would. Assuming the odds of rolling one stat over another are equal (and Defiance Data has all the rolls listed), the odds would change from 25% to 35% in favour of rolling velocity for the T5 bonus.

    Yesterday I got a Big Boomer as part of a trade that had the 2x velocity OJ roll and I have to say that I love it. First let me say I don't PVP and I get why it is totally useless to 99.999% of the community. For me it is a toy that I have fun with, I've nicknamed it my "Sniper Boomer" and I break it out when I'm waiting for a conflict or siege that I'm interested running or I'm on a wide open map that I need to kill enemies that are far away. I equate my affection for the weapon to be equal to liking a movie that has gotten terrible reviews but has somehow managed to create a cult-like following. It's current configuration with a +4 velocity mod and no mastery it shoots about 240 meters, but with a T5 +6 velocity and a 1.25 velocity and I think it will be 275 meters or more. I know it's a weapon with very little practical use, but in my case it's just fun. And yes I agree, they should remove the velocity roll from detonators.

    They just need to reduce the velocity rolls stats 2x is too much.. I've had one and it was fun and useful at major ss events but generally had no purpose, reduce it and change what sight mods do to something else and it'll be all good.


    Edit: or even a new sight mod made just for velocity rolls which moves the crosshair??
