I remember a game, older than personal computers and consoles, which was text based of course (graphics weren't invented yet) It was an indirect fire artillery simulator/trainer, you had to hit enemies in "X,Y" coordinates so you had to set your angle of fire, calculate azymuth, set the power of the charge according to the projectile weight and fire. After a couple of seconds of delay the system would tell you the coordinates of your impact. I used to play this game when i was a child on an IBM s/34

    Ok, now i feel old....
I played a similar game on IBM pcJR. Star Trek. Text based and had to figure out all the specs of the shot. Played that game a lot.

Draw distance is around 80 meters.

I'm not sure what draw distance is. I can say that on relatively flat terrain the distance I have been able to "measure" from a few different fast travel points is around 238-240 meters. This is totally unscientific. It's based on taking multiple shots at varying guesstimated shot angles from a few fast travel points and driving out and finding the shots. Without any real data to work with regarding the mechanics and gravity in the game I'm guessing that the extra +2 mag velocity and the 1.25 velocity will add and extra 35 - 40 meters but it could be more.

Draw distance is how close you have to be to something before it is rendered.

My crash boomer with a +3 or +4 velocity mod (can't remember) projectiles only travel about 30-40 feet. Are you talking about a rocket launcher going 240 meters?

If a waypoint is is 240 meters away, I hop on my quad. 130 meters, I'll consider running. To put in some perspective, the distance we're talking about is the distance from Bloodbath Turnout to the middle of Bloodbath Gorge.

I've spent a LOT of time studying the data scientifically. You can sometimes have things draw at 82-83m, but not much more. I'm not sure why a 240m range gun would even be of any value.

I like the current velocity roll as it is.

Not everyone like it / can aim with it, and thats part of the game.
If your roll / mod / adjust all the guns as you want to be comfy with, ask to roll them all the same....

I personally love the 2x Veloc. roll, if a det. dont have it, i dont use it.
Other think the opposite way, 2x Veloc. roll, they dont use it.

Just find a detonator with rolls that suits you.

About recoil its another story, More about Rocket launcher than Grenade launcher, They would have to add a strong recoil on RLs.
I agree that RLs fires fast without any trouble.
Keep in mind that Von Bach is a good designer tho. Very good indeed.

Ah, now I understand and that explains some things. The boomer I have has and OJ roll of x2.00, so they travel about 240 meters with the +4 t3 mod that is installed. It's not practical but its fun. The draw distance makes sense because the rounds are still there when I go and find them after I detonate them.

    Completelly agree here!

The rage in this game is probably it's lamest thing (specially for snniper rifles, firing always on such short distance takes out the essence of sniping). Similar happens with rocket launchers, in such short distnce the rockets doesn't even have ennough time to accelerate to the target!

There isn't any value in it at all and that's why I love it

I could make a few arguments about using it in open maps like Bath house or at Monolith majors but honestly they would be pretty weak. I just enjoy it in the same way that some would enjoy having a 10 foot tall roman candle: it's an impractical novelty that makes people's eyes pop out of their head when they see it and is more than likely just going to blow up in my face when I use it.

I think having fun with something is the strongest argument to use it! I won't argue that for a second.
