Those thing that look like a T

I went to a store and instead of using regular cash, I also had to pay with something that looked like a T. How do you earn what ever these things are.
P.S. It was two shapes that made it look like a T.

I believe you are talking about faction reputation. if so, be level 250 then press start(or your equivalent) and use the ego wheel to select goals and tab/bumper over to contracts. complete them and you'll get points.
