2h Patch to download?

200 mb pach? I downloaded an patched the game to fully updated last night (initial DL of the game was 5gigs, ater patching was up to 10gigs) made my chacter and played all night long up until the server shutdown for the update .....and when I logged back on (Xbox-360) It said 3360mb (over 3 gigs..not 200 MB) were needed to install and play...this game is already using up over 13 gigs of my HD lol... so after uninstalling the now 3rd game I've had to remove from my HD to make sure I have room for massive memory hogging patches, I log back in an hour later after patching is done...just to find out the server is shutting down a second time? lol...wow, great first impression..hopefully whatever you are doing now, leaves a smaller footprint. :/

Why, why, why do I need so much extra space on my Xbox HD just to install the tiny 200mb patch!?! Was all patched up and playing till the server went down for this today, now after downloading the patch, which took twenty minutes, and the game client starts the patch install, I get a message saying the game needs an additional 1.3gb of space to complete the install!!! So have to go delete another game I just downloaded so this silly thing can have all that room to install a 200mb patch???

You guys are just gonna have to get more storage. Flash drives are pretty cheap nowadays. If it wasn't the defiance patch it would just be an issue with space for the next game you want to download. Best way to conserve space is to just buy the disc of anything that you can get on disc.. except for defiance of of course, cuz it needs to be installed. But you can often get the disc games for way cheaper than downloading them from Microsoft or PSN store anyway.

For myself that's not an option, storage or disk versions. My Xbox, and my ps3, both have dead disk drives. Disks go in, but are never read, so I'm now digital only. Storage wise my 360 has three usb ports, one for the wireless adapter, one for the controller, and one for a 64gb drive. I keep defiance on my HD though. No other game that I've played ever needs so much additional inbstall space for patches. Requiring 1.3 GB of space for a 200mb patch is just ridiculous. Re downloading the game I had to delete...Comcast probably hates me with all the downloading/re downloading I've been doing lately.

Try toggling the server to a different region on the patch screen and see if you can download it that way. Just make sure to restart and have the region set to your usual before you go to play, otherwise you'll be in the wrong region and your characters not be there.
