Trion, from what I understand, is having difficulties adapting to the XBLA server cluster (There's a post about it on the community page http://community.defiance.com/en/201...erent-results/ ). They have essentially been forced to place a game server inside of a matchmaking server, effectively making Defiance a Matryoshka doll, several smaller dolls inside of one larger shell. Not to mention that they are integrating this with other consoles. Be patient, I understand that it's frustrating, I'm frustrated also, but remember, you waited this long to play this game, a few more days won't kill you.

As is to be expected with an MMO, the first few days there are quite a lot of server problems. Even the big PC games like Diablo 3, Guild Wars 2 and recently Sim City had them. They all said: "We are prepared for this". But they all weren't. You can expect server issues with a game that is pretty much on the down low. My advice: Sit it out. The world won't end because you cannot play. Only little problem that is bugging me is that there is no instant message from a Moderator saying: "We are aware of the issues and working on them." But hey, this is only my opinion and it doesnt count for anything. Odd thing though that EU Xbox Server has problem in the middle of the night. I don't know if Xbox US and EU server are connected somehow cause EU Xbox server had no way of overloading in the middle of the night (I imagine).

There is something called a Stress Test that all major MMO's go through to make sure things like this do not happen. Some of you are asking people to wait 2 weeks to play a game the payed $60-$150 for. I am a patient guy and while last night i was not upset at the developers since i know that things pop up that don't appear in beta but since i am 95% positive that a stress test was never done on the console servers i don't think this was the best launch strategy ever. On top of all this the people who bought the more expensive versions of the game like myself have time sensitive content that we are not able to take advantage of. This partially nullifies the reason for buying these versions of the game and makes the gamers feel as though they are getting screwed. They have a right to be upset since those bonuses run in real time not play time. They need to bring the servers down an fix the problem outright while compensating people for their lost content.

I wish people would quit defending the developers on this. This kind of down time is not acceptable for a MMO. It would be one thing if the game had a single player but buying a game that is online only and then not being able to play is completely unacceptable. If you are not ready and the game is not stable then you push back the launch plain and simple. This is a great game and i give the developers props on the idea but This kind of launch issues have killed other MMO's and i don't want to see that happen here. Thank you development team for your hard work and long hours to fix the current issues, but i'm not alone in saying that this could and should have been avoided.

There's a problem with stress testing and beta testing: they don't always receive the numbers to test their servers that they need to accurately do so, this was a problem with Diablo III, SimCity, and is a problem with BountyHounds Online and is a problem they are attempting to avoid with FireFall Online, by slowly expanding outward. This is not uncommon to see in any MMO, servers get overtaxed, and it breaks things loose, then they have to fix it. Patience is appreciated, but it's also understandable to be frustrated, though all it really ends up being is cheap therapy for those who don't have anything better to do than complain about a non-functioning video game.

    Doing their best

I know everyone wants to play, but they have already said they are working on it. If people were expecting a problem free launch of an mmo, they haven't spent alot of time in mmo launches. Seeing people rant and rave about this, has to be frustrating for developers who are working hard to get the game back up. Having been in the beta, and alpha on the PC, I can tell you the game runs great most of the time.

I haven't met many people who are frustrated. Most of my friends who play it on Xbox are loving it, even though they can't always play it. I guess having other things to do is one of those large dividing points.
