Update: Xbox 360 US Lag and Connection Issues

there was a developer blog posted last night stating that it wasnt a simple programming or code problem ,not that someone made a mistake in coding, they said they were working with microsoft to come up with a system patch for the 360 to help it so clearly they are trying everything they can, when the servers come down its cause theyre working on them to make them not crash for you, they also said it was an unforeseeable issue that the pc and ps3 versions are working fine, theyre keeping you in the light of what they are doing and what they are trying to fix, yeah it sucks it doesnt work perfect right now but thats how mmos tend to go, plus being the first true mmo on consoles if you didnt expect some hiccups you werent thinking straight to begin with. i give trion 2 thumbs up with how diligently they are working to fix this for us and for how fun the game is when it stays stable, and for the guy asking about rift, it was a fantastic! same premise of the arkfalls they were just called rifts and were alot of fun, either way trion you have my support keep it up

Maybe a good lesson for them to conduct extensive beta testing!

just to be a bit of a smart *** though, you realize that referencing the similarities between Rift's gameplay and Defiance isn't a really positive endorsement of the great job they are doing right now? if there are similarities between that award winning game and this, you would think that maybe they would have had it dialed in by now, especially if they aren't really breaking their established mold for video games.

i understand what you are saying and mean though, and think you're prolly right....just had to split hairs for a sec

Yup, Trion is working real hard to not let us play the game. I got off work to play for 2 hours, nothing in Mmo time, to have Trion shut the servers down for "maintenance" only to log back on with a 4 sec lag delay. That is when I can actually connect. I had to buy two copies because they can't market a product correctly.

i know what you mean i think its more the moving a mmo to console that is the big move with this game, plus the idea of arkfalls fits the show well so why not go with them ya know plus to me thats what makes a trion game now is having those world wide events like that, i just dont understand the bashing of trion when they have kept us, the gamers, more in the light about issues than most mmo companies and they are working hard and diligently to fix it for us, i guess i just have more patience than others

This game, like so many others lately, is all hype.
RIFT was terrible, so I didn't expect much from this either, but other games I had high hopes for failed sharply.

This games graphics are dated beyond belief, for being so hyped up - they could have done a little better. Online only? Seriously? The more you try to force this - the more issues you get with connection, the more latency everyone gets. Shouldn't you learn this by now having RIFT's failure to reflect upon, or the hundreds of other games that did this very same thing - only to have day 1 issues?

Why do you refuse to take the time to do something right, prepare for the mass player base, and prevent these issues from the start?

This lack of forethought shows me all I need to know about "Defiance - the video game" - Stay Away.

It won't be long before the servers are ravaged by hackers and exploitation and the game play is ruined for everyone anyway, forcing a massive change that will never get the right attention to save the game's skin.

The "shot at limelight" having your character mentioned or in the TV show itself will be enough for some players to mod their systems, outright cheating through game play, or use alternate means of "Dbaggery" to advance themselves and keep newer players in the dust. This is not the kind of game play you should support, this is not the kind of game people should desire.

So why are you here?... Not much of a life.

To everyone crying, just stop. I know nothing of coding nor have I ever played an mmo before. I was pissed when I first got the game with the nearly unplayable state it was in. But if you have been playing since launch, you can clearly see the good speedy progress that been made to resolve the issues plaguing the gameplay. Yes it would have been nice if the game was in a better state to begin with but with the rate of progress I've seen I feel my money was well spent if not just for their fantastic work ethic. So in short keep up the good work. If you don't want to wait, tough, trade it in or sell it and come back in a month. Meanwhile I will be playing and having fun.

There are hundreds of other games I could have paid for that work on day one.

Except mediocrity and that is all you will ever get.

Its an MMO, issues like this are not uncommon. Hell even BF3 was trash the first week it was out.
