I have been able to log in a total of 3 times out of 9 separate attempts, im talking about overall attempts at different times. The game is incredibly fun but you should be able to get this to work by now. Many of you will flame me and say, they are working hard to get this fixed give them a break most of them have been working overtime. I don't understand how people are blatantly defending them after the internet outrage of the release of the new Sim City. If anything is this on par with the Sim City launch, at least for xbox users like myself.

If anything veteran mmo players know how crucial launch is for any mmo game. Sure there are always problems to work out, however at some point a lot of people are going to give up and cut their losses. This means less people playing the game and paying for upcoming content. I am sure many people have either returned or traded this game in already due to the never ending issues.
Sorry to say that i have just done that. have not been able to play but the first 45 min of the game when i got it tue. with all the critical massages, getting kick constantly, or the server is down. probably a good game but not even worth the hassle. so ive returned it to gamestop to try and make some of my money back. The clerk there told me im not the first by a long shot showing up to return the game. Ah well guess ill never get a game from Trion again.

I cant paste the link as I am using IE on the xbox, but a dev did a good job of explaining how complicated the xbox server issues are in a thread under general discussion titled something like lessons from day 3. Worth a read before complaining. (edit) It was theme of day 3.

This is also Microsoft's first MMO for the Xbox you would think they would have something to say or do something about it. As for compensation I would suggest maybe some early bonus footage from the show, In game compensation, maybe another game But honestly I would much rather be able to play the game lag free then receive any of this.
the reason xbox is having the most problems is because of the ram its only about 4gigs and plus console ram is 458mb or so it cant hold much stuff on it all at once itll lag a lot from time to time but not like this its not even like servers are over populated..

atleast they are helping but not soon enough but we will be reimbursed!!!

On that note, giving you more insight into today and some indication of what’s coming up.
Huge client patch coming – Client patches are very risky to deploy so we employ a more rigorous testing process before we distribute them. We can very easily revert a server patch. Depending on testing and certification, we should see that around the 15th, hopefully sooner, possibly later. It currently has 8 pages of patch notes, listing fixes and improvements.

Good batch of improvements – We’re happy that we’ve been able to keep a good stream of fixes and improvements just through the server updates. Client updates are much difficult but we did manage to address a set of crashes and the 120hz. That’s all ongoing of course so there is more to come, especially in today’s update and tomorrows as well.

Your boosts are not in vain – We’re looking at ways to make up to you all these various server problems and launch issues. We know your boosts are running while you aren’t able to play. Not just because you said so but because the few of us that do go home occasionally, try to play from there and come back even more frustrated in the morning. We don’t feel for you. We feel with you.

Pre-order items – Great strides in getting that all sorted out for a lot of people. Again, make sure you have all your codes and enter them. Also make sure you link your account to get all these items if you are on console.

This is not my first mmo, and it's not my first one on the 360. I've seen the launch of new games like FFXIV and played old ones like FFXI and WoW. I know you're all working hard. I do.

I'm just tired. I can't connect without timing out, and when I do, I get kicked because I timed out, and that's just today. I was able to play this morning (yay Spring Break!), and then there was a patch at 2:15pm... le sigh.

People are complaining here because, after being positive and trying to hope for the best, they're just tired. That's all. It can be exhausting -- especially when you see your friends enjoying the game -- and you're constantly being kicked, freezing, going zombie, lagging, stalling, glitching, and the like. My boyfriend is 30 minutes north of me playing on a 360, and he didn't get a time out error all night. That did a great mind f*** on me.

Please keep up the work, and make the 360 -- an obviously POS Microsoft product with tens of thousands of hurdles for your servers to jump through -- work with your awesome game.

    Thanks.

P.S. I played Rift at its launch on the pc -- very smooth compared to this. XD

You know what - I've held my silence long enough.

This is to everyone here calling Defiance and Trion a terrible, deceitful company, to everyone asking for reimbursement because the "product" doesn't live up to your "expectations", to the people who come here and say "Hey, I don't even own the game but look- I told you so!" and generally to everyone else who is bad mouthing and insulting the only community managers and developers brave enough to interact with us on the Forums.

Shut your mouths. I don't know if anyone here has actually read the ToS or EULA for Defiance, or any other MMO or game; but here's something you should know:

The companies who made them don't "owe" you a single thing in terms of product satisfaction. You've agreed to purchase the product and use it, as is, and even legally give those same companies the allowance to make changes to the product whenever they see fit. In very simple terms, you have "rented" the ability to use the "product" of Defiance from Trion, but the "product" is OWNED by them, and they can do whatever they want with it.

Some of you feel they have done terrible, terrible things, that the game either doesn't work or is so glitchy and buggy it's unplayable. You basically feel there's no "product" here at all, and that Trion is full of **** and has robbed you.

You'd be wrong, though. I played several testing phases on both the PC and 360, there was little to no server issues, not that many bugs and glitches (and all of the ones I noticed were fixed in-between phases) and absolutely no problems like we have now.

The game worked - it was fun, it was impressive, and it was everything the game was promised to be.

It's still that same game. And on the PC and PS3, things are running much smoother then they are for us, the 360 crowd. See, the issues were encountering with the servers (and this extends to many of the bugs that are popping up) are NOT Trions fault. They are NOT part of Defiance. The product many of you think is defunct, is perfectly fine.

Here's a good read about it:
    http://community.defiance.com/en/201...erent-results/

The problems your all complaining about, and blaming Trion for? Screaming madly at developers and saying they should never touch a video game again? Sending hate mail to and asking for reimbursements on a project they've loved and been developing for years?

"We are constantly trying new approaches and changes to hone in on what is the cause. This isn’t a single bug or one problem. It’s not a programmer making a spelling error somewhere or someone stumbling over cables.". ... "We’re incredibly sorry for this state. This was by no means foreseeable. If this was just Game Server code, it’d be easy to diagnose. It isn’t. This is intra-server protocols between the entire cluster. But we’re on it. We didn’t scale these servers up from 2 people to 10s of thousands of people by luck alone."

They've spent the last 4 days, doing nothing but rolling out patch after patch, restarting the servers and changing things, and trying the best they can to make things work.

You think they have to? They don't have to do anything. I've seen games come out with game breaking bugs that don't get patched for a month, meanwhile Trion has rolled out 4 or 5 client patches in the 4 days since the games release, meanwhile managing the same game working on two totally different platforms rather successfully.

It's so sickening to see people who feel they are so entitled to their expectations that they can't open their eyes and see the people they are blaming and dressing down are the same people trying their very best in order to meet and exceed those expectations in the first place.

What does this all sum up to?

    1. You agreed to use the "product" Defiance, even with the issues that WILL be solved, it is what it is and the "I spent my money" argument does not fly.

    2. Trion is doing every single possible thing to fix the issues, as quickly as possible. Another part of that article describes the client patch soon to come including 8 pages of fixes and improvements. Imagine that!

    3. As one of the only MMO's to ever come out on the 360 (and the first one on the xbox since 2007) the game and the developers DO (though some of you think differently) deserve some leeway in order to work things out. I mean, think of it, this is an innovative new product that DOES work, and WILL work on the 360, and we need MORE games like this, not less.

For all of you with negative, condescending, and positively driveling things to say, stow it. The negativity doesn't have any positive effect on anything. It doesn't fix the game any faster, it doesn't give you your money back, it doesn't make you, us, or the developers happy, and it certainly isn't necessary.

For every single one of you short sided, negative buggers out there, there's about 1000 happy and positive people who love the game even with the server issues and are looking forward to the upcoming fixes and improvements with glee! The negative Nancy's will NEVER win over the positive Panda's here.

Oh, and Trion? Keep your heads up. You guys are doing excellent work, and we could never be Ark Hunters without you guys supporting us!

    EDIT: Hey, look at this!
    http://community.defiance.com/en/201...till-have-lag/

OH MAN THEY'RE FIXING EVEN MORE STUFF THEY MUST BE TERRIBLE! /sarcasm

? you need to vent more often in shorter bursts. I got past the first sentence and didn't care to waste my life reading your frustration. Second, freedom of speech bro. It applys just as much to the TROLLS as is does to you. PPL need to vent anger too. Relax, have a COKE and a smile Tomorrow is another day.

Also was on 360 tonight and WOW, great job. Seem like the servers were flawless and everything was working smooth. My clan was able to do quite a bit of arkfalls, missions, co-op missions and level up like crazy with the playtime available and the servers doing well. I went from 220 to 337 tonight.

    *looks at you expectantly*

    Please, go on.

And sure, people need to vent anger. They just don't have to do it publicly, and aim it at the only people trying to fix the same issues the aforementioned are angry about. Does that make any kind of sense when it's spelled out so simply?
