New event thoughts

After grinding the new event arkfalls for about 5 hours, i have been enjoying the new event so far. My only complaint is that the BMG point whoring is absolutely ridiculous. 4 out of 5 5900s I see are using BMGs. Why is everyone using them? It is well known points don't make any difference in what type of drops you get. You are just as likely to get green drops with 10000000 points as you are with 50 points. It might be coded that points "increase" the chance of better drops, but it rarely shows. On top of that, the BMG induced lag is ruining the event for some. Sure the event can still be done even with horrendous lag, but what fun is it when your entire screen is glowing white from BMG healing? Their needs and has always been a need to have a way to disable BMG healing. I would love a settings option to turn off the option for my character to be healed with a BMG. Besides that though, I have been enjoying the event. I'm in the top clan on Xbox so we are running back and forth between majors with little time in between(callouts are life). I've gotten 2 orange weapons so far(pistol and sniper, bother radiation, both are very disappointing). I've also gotten a handful of t4 mods, the dozens of t3 mods dropping I am just vendoring or donating. The final crystal in the major arkfalls are interesting, so so so so many apex monarchs are dying. So much so that the snake bite 2 apex monarch pursuit can be completed in one major On a side note, it seems all the weapons from this event are very disappointing and not worth using. Sure HB is considered the expedition synergy, but it honestly is not that good. The only benefit I see from HB is the 5s damage boost to surrounding allies, and that is only good when like 20 people stack it. I haven't gotten the oj assault rifle yet, that's probably the only weapon I am looking forward to using(Named > regular oj). I'm hoping it's somewhat like the perforator.

If there is a leaderboard, there will be competition to place first. As basic a part of human nature as you will ever find.

BMGs get you to the top fast and keep you there so...

During the XMas event, I started to become convinced that you had better chances at T5 loot with as low a score as possible, so I started doing the minors but not the majors, or coming into the majors 3/4 of the way through. I did honestly get better loot with a score between 5k-10k than 50k+ plus, but my interpretation was probably confirmation bias.

Hmm where to start... The bmg is not only completely worthless in this event and in most others, but it is actually hurting more than usual seeing as how with the heartbreaker synergy it grants affects upon your shield breaking. You lose those affects when every single time you lose a notch of your shield some idiot feels the need to heal you. Its hard enough for me to even complete a major CC without going critical (which happens 90% of the time), but when im getting hit with so many bmgs I cant even move, reload, switch weapons or do anything, its really really really annoying. And using the bmg the whole time never counts towards competition of an event. "Healing" people isnt doing damage or killing anything. And the only reason you even get credit for kills with it is because somebody else was taking its life down and you had your beam on it at the time. And last but not least, I have a firewall shield equipped so I want my shield to break. Instantly heals myself and people around me without any lag or stopping people from doing damage with a real gun.

I dunno. Like most of them, I've been sitting here for like 5 hours and have yet to see a major for the event start.

Gotta love how they never fixed that.

I've been playing this for the past 4-5 hours on pc. I've already completed at least 3 majors, but the count on the weekly Tarr contract is staying at 1/5. I've had a couple dozen HB weapons drop, all but 2 have been vendored, mostly greens, a few blues and purples. All the weapons that have dropped are the same 6 weapons - an AR, SMG, LMG (disruptor?), Sniper, a RL and a pistol, I guess that's all there is. I've also had a couple dozen mods drop, mostly t2, 3 t3 and 1 t4. MY toon on pc is just under 400ego and I'm not having a hard time with this event, even at the final of a major. I've been downed a few times but haven't had to be revived or extract so far.
I have to agree about the BMG's being useless with the HB synergy. The lags not as bad on the pc and there are lot less glitches during the event. I haven't been shard hopping because I have no friends or clan on the pc, so I haven't been able to complete very many majors. Although I would like to say, every major I've been to has been completed unlike the Solstice Strike where 8 out of 10 failed.

That's because the Tarr Weekly is asking you to do the Tarr Daily 5 times.

Ahh, that makes sense lol I misread it. I thought it was complete 5 majors.
