Was playing just find, wrapped up the story mission where you get the bmg. Went to my map, zoomed out and the game froze. Stayed like that for a few mins then ps3 crashed and now I get a Critical error saying You connection to the DEFIANCE server has timed out whenever I try to log in.
I've been getting that same message for the last 25 mins. and I was dc'd from the game myself. Friends are still playing though.

I am down to ps3 south Carolina. Im on the mission for lawkeeper pt3 and I have to extract. Ok. But then once I spawn and then I keep dieing over and over by bio ooz ?? Then I lagged out and its down
I just was working on a story mission where the next section wouldn't trigger so I abandoned the quest, reloaded and was repeatidly killed over 10 times by phantom enemies till I quit the game via the XMB.
Now when I attempt to log back in I get "Your connection the the DEFIANCE servers has timed out." message as well.

MY friend who lives a county over in georgia is playing as we speak. This makes no sense.
your on a different server, I crashed also. It's all a part of MMOs and knocking out the glitches

I'm facing the same issue in Tennessee. I cannot get past the title screen. I was in game and then i was disconnected. I quit the game and then tried connecting again. Got a message on screen that says:
CRITICAL
Your connection to the DEFIANCE servers has timed out.
