    Electric nano...why?

    Why should I ever touch the electric nano?Fire is very superior.Most enemies lack shields and the ones that have shields also have health.So,why would I ever use this nano?
    Defiance is gone. Gamigo has been "not neglecting" the game for over a year, yet there's nothing new except for low effort arkfalls and bitshop items.
    I know it might be hard to quit a game you loved for years but you have to understand that it won't get better. Ever. If you like the game in it's current state, then sure, keep playing it. You're enjoying yourself after all. But if you aren't, don't hope for a better future for Defiance. Because it won't come.

    I found electric is pretty effective against 99ers. Most of the time their shields get shredded and, to me anyways, 99ers seem to be more vulnerable to elec damage than fire. I have a fire based Bolt Action Sniper, and unless I headshot their shields take it.

    I also happen to like the blue projectiles.

    What about all the other enemies in-game?Electricity is useless against them.Electricity's stun effect needs to be counted as a flinch.

    elec used to be pretty great before DLC5. It feels like it used to proc more or do more dmg back then. It was one of the top 3 nanos then. syphon, fire, elec, bio, rad were most ppls preferences then. DLC 5 changed all that

    To each their own I guess. *shrug* Maybe in some cases if you're on a team elec can be a good support to rip shields for other team members?

    Lets do a count,shall we?

    Pros:
    -Rips trough shields like they're butter;
    -Can stun some enemies.

    Cons:
    -Bad against health;
    -Most enemies and all bosses don't have a shield;
    -All enemies have health;
    -There are enemies immune to stunning.

    Electricity needs a buff just like Syphon needed.

    Hm... 99ers, Volge, and Dark Matter use shields. Scrappers, Mutants, and Raiders don't. Can't remember if Grid do or not.
    And saying all enemies have health doesn't exactly count as a con, as if they didn't they'd be dead. So that's not exactly an argument. I know of no enemy type that only has shield and no health.

    Ultimately Elec is like any other nano. It has its advantages and disadvantages. Its just like some of the damage type arguments on Star Trek Online that seem to point towards Disruptor or Antiproton for pure DPS. Everyone chews out Tetryon because "Once their shields are down, the proc is useless", and "It brings shields down? So does everything else!" The point is Tetryon is more effective against shields and therefor you are doing more damage to a hull directly faster in some cases.

    Basically... use what you like, weigh the pros and cons or have another nano type on your other weapon to switch to after the shields are ripped off. *shrug*

    How often do you fight against threat level 10 Volge?

    Actually,grid,afflicted,bulwarks,gulanees,raiders, mutants,scrappers all lack shields.Plus,the fire nano,since all enemies have health yet most lack shields,can have a full 150% damage against an enemy while electricity can never have its full damage against any enemy in game.

    Some could say Bio or Radiation is superior as well. And how often do we fight Gulanees? Bullwarks still technically fall under the Dark Matter category and can still be stunned I believe.

    Again it comes down to preference. BTW... don't you have to go through shields first before that 150% damage can be applied? Could always have an elec gun for shields and fire gun for health as you can have 2 weapons per loadout.
