It's not the bullet with my name on it that worries me. It's the one that says, "To whom it may concern".
HOME RUN!!!
(That is my entire baseball knowledge up there^[and it could be wrong])
P.s Monolith Monopoly is better, you passed go collect 200 scrip!
I hate those ppl. I ALWAYS sit at the console and wait for more ppl to group around it, and i NEVER pop it untill the ships come in to drop the dark matter. .....i dont think most ppl know that anyone in the vicinity also gets the boost and they just rush it thinking its first come first serve, prematurely activating it when theres nothing to even shoot at. Omg talk about things that make me rage!
We all know that guy, or at least have the mental image... if not...

Of course ^This Guy^ didn't whine or get all poopie-pants because someone didn't follow through with his demands.
As stated, Clan Etiquette, it hasn't been followed, unwritten or not.
As Bentu said, but I will use new words: Let him Found/Lead his own clan... it's not expensive.
As for Monolith Baseball, (awesome terminology) some nubs don't even get that part. Seen a monolith battle with 5 mins left, seemed as though 3 - outta 50 were actually trying to use the Boosts, while others were like "Oh cool, I run faster..."
Well, while I was trying to explain my responsibility to other clan members and making sure he doesn't affect their experience in the game, he spit back something to the affect that he would just start his own clan...and, of course, immediately asked me how he does that. I was not wasting any breathe explaining that to him so I told him to use google since my husband already tried to tell him to use defiancedata.com to learn more about the game to no affect.
I just gave him an opportunity to found his own clan. :-)
I will remove any clan member that is rude, constantly has their hand out asking for free stuff or starts any problems with others. Nip the drama in the bud at the beginning. I have a small tightnit clan. I was recruiting a lot of people at first but was growing the wrong way. After cleaning house I left it with just my gf and I for 1700 points of our rating until I picked up another gaming friend. Then we started growing slowly. Not adding as many so fast. Getting to know and play with the new recruit(s).
As mentions before. This made the game more enjoyable from a clan aspect. I have an open door policy and will give anyone a chance. If it's not for that player they are free to leave no hard feelings. (Cause it's just a game)
It's also important to communicate. I try to get clanmates feeling like they are appreciated for their help. Even if they are low ego. Because, well, they are appreciated. This could be done simply by saying hi when they log on and thank you when they help or before they log out.
I promote based on time played, helpfulness and contribution. A clanmate that plays more often than others, offers help and I see they are contributing more than others I will more than likely promote.
Just my opinion and how I do things. Hope it all helps.

Absolutely and thanks for the thoughts! I try to always say "hi" in clan chat when they join and we have started giving a few pretty sweet items (when we have them) to our solid members who contribute and play well with others as a gesture. I prefer to give it to a clan member as kind of a reward for adding millions to our ranks versus selling for scrip anyway. I am not all that rich in the game but also not all that greedy :-). I want to have fun and would like our clan to have fun too.
As you have already done...it is "live and learn" and we are doing that but I definitely appreciate the advice.
Thanks!
Bridget
Im a leader of an old high rated clan, and our biggest pet peeves is clanny's getting highly sought after gear on a clan discount (or free), and then flipping it for profit outside the clan. It is a big problem in all the big clans and has crushed a few.
Story: We had a new player that asked several times a day for a good AR. I finally hooked him up with a beast t4'd Cannoneer VBI Assault Rifle to use...the guns was gone the next day. He decided he wanted strip the mods off to use on a "blue" rolling thunder AR with a different nano. He was done with the game two days later because his free xbl pass ran out. Oh how I wish I at least had those mods back. lol
