I think its high time companies all over realise that we're a global community now. The internet etc has linked us all up and this sort of practice is out dated and frustrating.

I can understand it back in the day when everything had to be physically transported from a central location etc, but these days its really just them hoping to stagger promotional costs and maximise profit.

If a TV show/film/game comes out in UK/USA or anywhere for that matter - it should be globally available, if not in physical media at least via download.

I think we'll get there in the end, probably once the codgers in management positions shuffle off the mortal coil and the positions are filled with people who have experienced this global community throughout most/all their lives... (I'm 32, so I remember pre-internet days, but there's still folks out there that barely understand it - my mum for instance only got online in the last 6 months!!)

perhaps the Defiance site will air episodes as they come out. they could even have a viewing time as a normal station would.

The solution to Legally watch the show is to purchase the service called unotelly http://www.unotelly.com/unodns/ it allows you to watch it on the main Syfy website. I haven't tried it because I would only use it for Continuum and Dance academy. (of which neither are on right now. And it has issues with abc.co.au iview)

I agree with you, however this breaks Hollywood endless money and artificial scarcity models. They still think that if they realize it in different areas at different times they will make more money. The opposite has proven to be true. Eventually they will but I think that the old guard will have to be gone by then.

You can buy the episodes on the Play Station Store if you have a PS3 that is, I am in the UK and intend on doing this.

Not going to lie, I always watch TV programs that are broadcast in the US sometimes months earlier than they are in the UK.

Not going to mention the streaming website though...

Just throwing this out, but is it possible the show will be posted either on SyFy's website, or possible streamed from Hulu.com?

Problem is, from what I've seen.. syfy.com does not seem to have more recent episodes of alot of shows. Take face/off for example, I think there are 10ish episodes in the current season and the website only has the first 5. They are available on hulu, but then you need to enter some details from your cable provider?

I do this this too with tv shows and movies and I don't see why people wouldn't want to do it
