I think its high time companies all over realise that we're a global community now. The internet etc has linked us all up and this sort of practice is out dated and frustrating.
I can understand it back in the day when everything had to be physically transported from a central location etc, but these days its really just them hoping to stagger promotional costs and maximise profit.
If a TV show/film/game comes out in UK/USA or anywhere for that matter - it should be globally available, if not in physical media at least via download.
I think we'll get there in the end, probably once the codgers in management positions shuffle off the mortal coil and the positions are filled with people who have experienced this global community throughout most/all their lives... (I'm 32, so I remember pre-internet days, but there's still folks out there that barely understand it - my mum for instance only got online in the last 6 months!!)
