The £2 difference won't matter to the people who have already bought the game and enjoy it, they'll buy it regardless, of course some people such as yourself, Sphinx, will argue the fact of why it's more expensive. I understand that but honestly many things need to be factored into this matter.
Microsoft will always want some sort of cut of the total price, not only that but Microsoft also charge Devs for patch updates to be released on XBL, sure it's greedy but at the end of the day, it's business. It is what it is.
People who use XBL pay a fee to use the service, some people will argue that if we XBL users pay for the right to play online then why can't we have DLC for free or at a reduced price? It's simple, If we did indeed get a reduced price for any piece of DLC even though we pay for the subscription then the PC and PS3 uses will get uptight and quite literally start crying for whatever reason.
This isn't a dig at them, because I fully understand why that would happen and I'm one of those people who think it's total horse**** but again, it's business.
So I'd take it on the chin my friend and deal with it, I mean that with the upmost respect but there's nothing you can do about it, not even if an online petition started, Microsoft will NOT change the pricing because they know people WILL pay at the end of the day and sadly, that's how it's always been, like I said above.
