Cheap bastard, go play with marbles.
That site says 39.99 for both PC and ps3 for me and 3200 Microsoft points so I really don't know what you are talking about unless they charge differently for EU
I'm not even considering the season pass until all of the connectivity issues have been resolved.
Destiny
Yeah I'm in the states but the conversion should come out the same all around 1600 points for 19.99*2 for 39.98. But really all I know is in the states it's the same price I'm sorry if you are getting screwed it shouldn't be different prices
Trion don't really have a say in the matter, it might sound stupid due to Trion being the actual Game Developers, however, if they have Microsoft Employees working for them for whatever reason such as, working on updates / patchs then Microsoft will want some sort of compensation for using it's resources.
Believe it or not but XBL might be the most tedious platform to cater for seeing as the Devs have to pay money upfront in order to secure a contract, whether it be an exclusive deal or not, the Devs need to pay some sort of price to push their product to the masses on the Xbox Platform. This much is obvious.
Trion could indeed strike some sort of deal with Microsoft as I mentioned above by signing an exclusivity deal, which could mean DLC prices are directly affected and much cheaper, however It's a dog eat dog world in the Video Game Industry, so it basically means whoever pays the most amount of cash to secure this deal gets the contract.
Not to mention the strict rules Microsoft have in place for ANY Developer who happen to work on a update or patch, they have to apply for their product / update / patch / DLC to be uploaded on the XBL servers and then made available for the general public to download. It all costs money I'm afraid and since Microsoft is a Multi-billion pound company who have practiced this sort of thing for decades, they will take advantage of anything.
Trion in my opinion are a different class of Dev all together, they're right up there with the legends who actually care for the people who play their games, sure their game has some major teething problems which people took to the forums on the very first day of release and began their campaigns of hate.
I was on the fence about Defiance, I scoured the internet reading reviews, watching countless videos and overall gaining general opinions of the people who I myself think have their heads screwed on, giving a no bull**** review on the game in question. I knew the problems which were present on release would put people off but do you know what, I went a head and purchased Defiance regardless, why? because I was also paying attention to the Devs Blog and they seem to be proactively working on these issues with dilligence.
Not many Devs will admit or even go to great lengths in order to rectify the problems so soon after release, sure it happens but I think Trion actually deserve the money they ask for in order to play Defiance, considering how much they have to pay in order to get this game to the masses, not to mention the support from Microsoft themselves.
So in my personal opinion, the extra £2 for the season pass, which lets not forget includes 5 pieces of additional content will be worth it. Some people might argue that they're not buying into it due to the actual game has problems and they wish to wait before handing over the cash, that's fair enough, it's their money so they have a right to do with it as they please.
I for one will support Trion regardless, so the extra £2 means nothing to me, why? because they had the balls to attempt something which many Devs would curl up and cry about due to the problems their game could face. People could say I'm a 'fanboy' but I'm literally quite far from it.
I've just joined these forums today and I purchased Defiance today also, this was after hours of sitting on the fence thinking whether this was a gamble, the thing which changed my mind was the persistant attitude of the Devs, letting their customers know EXACTLY what the deal is and not sugar coating it with bull****
COD died for me after COD 4, I knew the franchise would carry on repeating the same **** every year and look what happened, the Battlefield franchise WAS pretty decent at the time, but as you said, the kids which made the transition from their beloved COD to the Battlefield started to cry simply because they realized that Battlefield wasn't COD on steroids.
What did those individuals do about it? well they grew in force and began *****ing and moaning on the forums and the Devs listened, they nerfed one thing which broke another, fixing the broken problem produced a domino effect of problems which people instantly fought about.
Now Battlefield 3 is over run with people who want to 360 no scope a Jet pilot for their montage... I'm not even kidding, not only that but the 'Troll' meme has began such a bloody annoyance, Youtube is RIFE with people posting 'Trolling' videos which has deflated a once great game.
I know this post is a long wall of text, just posting my opinions is all =)
