Thread: New tutorial.

    New tutorial.

    It's time to admit it. The current tutorial is entirely inadequate for explaining a large portion of the game to new players. It is time Trion added a new tutorial to explain the finer points of the game.

    1) A tutorial on how mods work and what the bonuses on mods do. When I first started modding weapons I assumed I got every bonus from every mod I put on and it took me till about 2000 ego to figure out how to properly use them.

    2) The different effects of grenades. Just pulling the pin and throwing at your enemy isn't always what the situation calls for. Why does a flashbang work better against shielded enemies than a pyro and vice versa?

    3) Different effects of spikes and stims and the best way to use them. There is a popular rumor on PS3 NA that putting two damage spikes down increases total damage because no one has told people that the effects don't stack also the value of having spikes where lots of people are instead of wherever suits you best. The reason you should use stims rather than spikes when you are alone.

    There are many other things that need to be included so feel free to add them. As to how this could be implemented maybe you could have it as an optional popup after the main tutorial that takes you into an arena or something.

    I agree with the arena and you should also be given another weapon with some mods in the first couple missions with it ofcourse telling you how it works and telling you, you need to mod it then after wards taken into the optional arena for the "finer points" of combat and gameplay atleast thats how I woulve liked it to be other than blindly modding stuff and using whatevers "best" till I got everything down
