it does massively, and thus becomes a requirement to buy your items.. instead of farming for items, everyone would be either buying gold online or being bored to death farming money.

Farming money for an item, is much less exciting than seeing a shiny purple or orange item on the ground that is superior to what you have.

unless they don't allow currency trading, but then there could just be "real money for X weapon" forums anyway, and that could already be a thing.

There is a lot to be sorted with an Auction House, and a bank would be nice but it could be as simple as moving mods to another tab and not have them use inventory slots. If I can store a Dodge charger somewhere in my pocket, I'm sure I can find another for some mods.

Beyond all the things that would be nice, and there are quite a few, there does appear to be a lack of community within the game. Not sure what the best solution would be but it feels like something that just hasn't been looked at yet while other things get sorted.

I don't blame Triton because they were trying a new idea. They wanted everyone involved. As usually spread too thin and its all a mess.
Dumb excuse. DC universe was launched on pc and PS3 at the same time and they had a mail system already then eventually a auction house.

to be honest trading and ah house is alot more work than people think. It is also prone to deleting and douping items almost at random. I really want a full crafting system with ah and all, but i know those are things that take lots of work and man hours to do. Not to mention has to all be balanced. I would personaly like things like a bank, but as there is no central city, adding banks mailboxes and AH just dont seem practical in the lore. Now later on down the road. Yeah i totally expect those features, but not now.

Yeah the only reason I dont see a use for these is because its to early in the games progression. Half of what people are holding onto is junk to be truthful. I have seen guys spamming they are selling things when you can get better from the vendor behind them.

Now after people start ego capping and capping their weapons I could see a point to a AH if your looking for a gun with certian stats. And dont forget set items.

They most likely also decided to forego these features to prevent lag and other issues out the gate on such a massive launch. I believe they will add these features slowly and hopefully not break the game jn the process

I really don't care that they left out an Auction House tbh. I would however like to have a bank and mail system.

If you think about it a Auction House would not fit the lore of the game. This is a post apocalyptic society, bartering and small market areas would be the main way of trading and purchasing goods.

I can also see why there is no mail in terms of lore since there probably is no real system of mail in the society. A messaging system sure but no actual mail of goods.

Bank however well those could exist with the lore. They could have storage areas you pay to open up and store items.

I agree with the OP. You're in a high-tech world in the future and there isn't any email? HAHAHA No trading system / stock market, etc? Yet I see digital supply depots in towns and outposts that can magically provide me gear and sell whatever is in my inventory.

    It doesn't make much sense.

A bank on its own, is nice to have to some degree, but since there's no crafting loot/supplies, our personal inventory is only weapons and shields, and you can easily get 50+ inventory slots, isn't that sufficient to get several guns of each type with multiple effects?

An AH is also a nice idea, but, once you start that road, you have to balance an economy. I kind of like the fact there isn't one.

Both of these things, and perhaps crafting, could show up in the future of course, there's plenty of options down the road.

I would say the specific reason they've been left out, if not for "it's not needed", then because "let's get the core mechanics running and expand later"
I agree on the AH -- it requires a lot of balancing to not mess up.

On the inventory slots/bank, aren't mods your crafting gear? Each takes up one inventory space. It would be nice to have a place to store them, like a bank, to be honest. In Borderlands 2 I would store class mods I wasn't using in the bank. I'd like to do the same here (and there are many more mods here).
