I feel ur pain. I too can't get past the start screen. I will stick it out. Maryland here
@ canders: something is up then. theres gotta be a problem. lots of ppl can get in. So im thinking do u have a router? or is your modem nat type "OPEN" or Moderate? if its strict of course u cant get in any online game lol.
Is your disc scratched maybe something is wrong with the disc. something BIZARRE is happening with your ps3 connecting to the server.
If you can access playstation Home with no problem then something else is going on. I guess all you can do is reboot your ps3, like unplug it, plug it back in. do the internet configuration again. and if u have wifi, try plugging it in the cord instead if u can, TRY ALOT OF THINGS cuase this game cost 64 dollars and it be a waste just to let it sit there without trying.

I'm not the only one. I'm returning it. I've made up my mind. I can play EVERY other I own online. It's them. Their servers. Not me. Trust me. I would love to play it but it won't let me. They know there is a problem. The just don't address it because they can't figure out what it is. I will try a few things when I get home from work and if it doesn't work, I'm washing my hands.
Its so weird to still see posts like this cause the game has been working great for me, even on launch day. Especially now that the arkfall lag has been fixed. Im completely hooked on this game so it's really a shame to hear that some people haven't been able to enjoy it. I don't get how it runs fine for me but some people can't even get past the START screen.
It's the same for me. I submitted an email request for tech support to them on the second day and still haven't heard anything for them. I really don't want to have to wait till the 15th for the client patch; assuming that will fix the issue.

Having the same problem as canders for PS3. But I'll find a way to play, this game looks too good to pass up
Now im not ps3 fan nor do i like ps3 but from what i know there servers are based in austian texas"There net sucks i kind you not ign had to go to them for a ingame look instead of doing it at igns home base"
I did it! It works! Laggy and bug filled but it is amazing!
