They know! They KNOW!
Do you guys even read the developers blogs? If you did, you'd see they have it in the works of being fixed.

Actually, I am kind of enjoying not seeing a flood of text about what was the first MMO, and how great WoW is. It would be nice to chat with party members, but I joined a clan and hopped on TS. Took care of that problem.

Please never add trading to this game as far as weapons go... Its the whole reason I couldn't enjoy borderlands online.. Somebody always had all the weapons ready to dupe em out killing the entire game....
End game? This game has no end.. as least not for the foreseeable future...
I also think you missed the part where it is an FPS first and an MMO second.....
I really don't know what all the whining is about as far as the game play is concerned... I think its fan-****ing-tastic....
Anything is only as social as you make it... Have you tried joining a clan yet and actually attempted to team up with somebody? Or used your ctrl key to group up with nearby players? Have you tried an of the co-op maps?
I mean what do you want?... Many people are starting to build up their clan communities etc.. as well.. go find one.. be social.. lol...
I agree the UI needs an overhaul and the chat needs a lot of improvement... But over-all.. Its a great game, with plenty of social aspects...
It does not feel dead to me at all... No matter what odd corner of the game world I'm in I generally run into people.. I often run into people on those random missions...
I've ran into tons of people and actually stopped to talk to a few.... I think the real problem is a majority of the players are busy playing and having fun.. They arn't bored so their not sitting around in a town chatting it up with you.. They are actually playing the game.. Oh my!!
I've seen tons of progression on my char!! Even my weapons!
For ****s and giggles, last night I was blowing myself up a bit outside of town then crawling towards where most people were and asking for water.... They always revived me.. how nice..
I dunno.. The social aspect is def their, your just not looking.. Chat needs an over haul which I'm sure they are well aware of...
But yea.. Their are lots of feedback and suggestion threads... Take your constructive criticism over their and ideas.
The lack of a good chat interface at the moment does hamper the game somewhat in my opinion. I don't belong to a clan/guild and spend virtually most of time running around very much treating it like a single player game. In some ways not being a part of an organisation as such means that I miss out on possible trading opportunities for weapons suited to my builds as well the enjoyment of a tactical group engagements and at some point in the future I will probably join up to access these types of things.
Probably the one thing I would like that I think would strengthen the game would be a ingame voice chat that operates in the immediate local area. A number of times I have been in situations where I have been aided by a random stranger or silently acted with others and using the chat channel in local to say thanks or that was a good fight which then gets lost in the aether as no-one has their chat window open. A localised voice ability would be a nice feature and contribute I think to a more logical (ingame immersion) as well lead to the development of social interaction in a far more personal level i.e. bonding over fights etc.
The problem is the chat interface. Its useless and hopeless, as you cannot even read it unless you press enter and well its not like you can do that in combat. It needs to be always up.
I don't partake in chat but for some reason I do feel an emptiness if I don't see text scrolling through the chat Window. Hell, I could care less if they just recorded a couple hours of chat and just looped it through my chat Window indefinitely.
Most importantly:
1. To correct those such as yourself on their spelling, i.e. underyling should be underlying and nasaly should be nasally
2. to ignore people like you for calling others nasally, whining, socialite criers when they have a legitimate complaint about a game that has many reasons for a social communication system so basic as a chat system that actually functions, which has not been fixed even though the complaints have existed since the first open Beta 3 months ago, and is inexcusable on Trions part
As for in game reasons:
1. To have the ability to reasonably form groups without too much frustration
2. To have the ability to ask questions about the game play that are not readily apparent such as...HOW THE FRACK do you turn on the VOIP in game on the PC...or does it even exist?
3. To form friendships
4. To chat about ..the game
5. to support clan communications
6. To be helpful to one another (Something your should learn to do as opposed to trolling)
7. to learn about the game from other people that play it
Lets turn to marketing:
1. So people can chat about the weekly series, which can and will if successful prove a communication hub for the weekly Syfy Series which promotes both game community and weekly viewer ship for the TV series therefore a mutual beneficial business arrangement
2. To have opportunities that the game could be used as an active Hub for in game interviews with the stars of the show as promotional events that are ongoing since they are under contract to promote the series and must do so if SyFy authorizes it.
Many, many, many more reasons as to why a working chat system is beneficial to the game and the TV series even though you are too narrow minded to think beyond your
Troll lair
now if this list isn't comprehensive enough for you...
