Not a whining thread: Just would like to know something ...

So, there have been alot of threads saying things suck, no chat, no this, no that. And I understand but it's also al little childish.

    But to conclude things:

This MMO has no social aspects, no trading, no char progression, no end game. Also loot isnt all that interresting. This is what makes an MMO. It's all not there. What remains is an Open world Co-op game with an OK story line were you will walk through and then you stop playing the game. It's a boring dead world with only a handfull of (repetitive) things to do.

Why make an MMO if this is all not there in the first place?

This is something I really would like to know, because the world feels just dead now.

game has char progression both through perks/perk slots and gear.

just because it's not a straight power curve engendering massive mudflation to cater to wow clone raiders and content locusts who play this genre only to satiate some desire to feel special through the acquisition of shiny pixels doesn't mean it doesn't have progression.

if anything the progression in this game while muddy and obfuscated is everything that gw2's horizontal progression should've been.

there is player to player trading, it's just extremely poorly implemented. and yes the game needs a trade hub/ah.

endgame wise i think it's obvious the game isn't all there yet. also since when is dungeon grinding for pixels any less boring and repeititve than grinding dynamic events for pixels?

anyways i do hope they add more to the game quickly and included in the base cost. including story driven content. there's less content here than base borderlands 1. and no the arkfall grinding doesn't make up for it.

    PR marketing?

Now I don't want to brag or seak guilt... But I can only think of one thing that lead this game to be so shallow... Consoles. It only plays good on Consoles.

Correction. Those things, aside from the socialization maybe, are what make an MMORPG. This is not an MMORPG. There are some minor RPGish elements in the game to give people some extra stuff to do and all, but not sure why you expect a game like Defiance to have all the same stuff as an MMORPG. Do you go on Call of Duty & Halo forums every time a new one comes out and complain about them not having all the features of an RPG? This is not much different except that it is an open world rather than lobby based.

BTW: I take it youve already maxed out your skill levels in every weapon, are rocking fully modded (with the highest rank mods) legendaries, have unlocked every available perk slot and have all maxed out perks in every slot? No? But... I thought there was no character progression. How can you not have those things already? You havent progressed enough? Pffft. Such things dont exist.

I enjoy the game, and I have not made it through the storyline or episode 1 content yet, simply because I am taking it slow. However from things I am reading about the amount of content in the game currently I really hope that they have a lot of stuff ready to go. One of the things I loved about Trion with Rift was they were constantly generating new content, so fast most people never caught up and always had something new to do. I hope this is the same plan with Defiance, but the starting content seems fairly lackluster. I have also not seen anything from Trion about their plans for content roll-out aside from the episode missions.

The reason I am focusing on PvE content and not PvP is because I got into the game with the understanding that it was a PvE centric game with PvP for those who wanted it.

One thing I have come to believe, a lot of people feel the game doesn't meet their expectations for MMOs because they expect to a certain degree a clone of everything they have been conditioned to be standard in a MMO. This game is a fairly new genre and is still trying to find its footing. Yes there are many aspects that need work, in some cases lots of work. It doesn't mean the game is crap because of that. As always with something new there is growing pains as it tries to find its place in the world.

The developers hear us and our concerns. They are working, and there are daily updates on what they are doing. Many people seem to miss the updates or don't even know they are being posted. Check out the most recent one at http://community.defiance.com/en/201...erent-results/

The game is still growing my GOSH people can't see the horizon. GET YOUR HEAD OUT THE SAND once the bug are fixed which they are fixing around the clock they will add more content. No sense adding things like a an auction house if there is no loot worth selling. No end game because there are episodes-DUR let the game get moving let them where the server stands after a full week of play.

In regards to endgame content, the reason why their is none is because the whole story is not completed yet. They are planning 5 big dlc packs that will add to the story along with the smaller free updates. In addition, I believe they are going to be implementing new episode missions every week once the show gets started in about a week and a half. I think their will be plenty of new content, you just have to be patient. For now, I think their attention should be focused on fixing all the bugs and issues that have been plaguing many people.

ok....Sir you clearly have no idea what you are talking a bout no insult intended because it has all those aspects they'er just not completely bug less there very buggy still you have to look past bugs and lag and story... there is a very colorful story line so far and to be honest you need to actually listen and watch to the game it plays out like a tv show you gotta let the climax build up a little tension and to get into it but give it a GOOD chance to be great i love the game...despite all the bugs and don't even stat on the lag but great game and hey guy give it a chance.
