Devs - About the UI and the april 15th patch

Im not really one to give callouts to any devs in post titles, but we have had a minimal amount of communication regarding the UI and the tons of feedback and suggestions there have been regarding the UI on the PC client. But can we expect to see any big improvements on userfriendlyness for the PC UI in the april 15th patch or in the near future? I know you probably read the long threads back in alpha/beta, whats your standpoint on that. Can you give us any hint as to where you are going with the UI? The HUD is fine, but the menus are a mess right now as to userfriendlyness.

I strongly agree. The user interface is absolutely atrocious. It's like a really, really, really bad console port in terms of usefulness. This is something that must be fixed as soon as possible.

8 pages of changes, has me worried about what they kept out of the main game because they were rushed and kind of giddy about what they're adding.

Hopefully the atrocious UI is one of them.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

I wouldn't mind seeing a preview of some of the more major changes among those "8 pages" of fixes.

The UI is indeed quite terrible, but I wouldn't be surprised if they chose to focus on the issues that are on all consoles, and I wouldn't blame them. It'd kind of make sense to fix the game itself before actually making the UI more PC-friendly.

    ^ Agree with iMogwai

However.. I also agree that the UI needs more love for PC players. Most games DO have a moddable UI, however, in my experience, that isn't something that comes right out of the box, it's something that's added a few updates (or even years) down the road.

That being said.. this UI is set up as a console UI, and I don't even play consoles, but it's pretty evident they had to work with the lowest common denominator here, that being console and their coding restrictions.

I dont find the UI THAT bad... it's not good, very console like... but I'd like them to focus on things like Animations, Lag, Graphic settings and (Sadly) More content... Hell I'd take a new arcfall event, i'm pretty sure there are only 3 atm... Rift had like 20 in the first area (10-20lvl)

Also the Communications should be like a general tab like every other MMO... But i guess that falls under the UI category.

I have to wonder how much of those 8 pages are things we told them about in the Alpha that didn't get done before release.

I would too, but my worry is that some of those things might not make it in time for the patch and people would freak out
