So you buy your "loot" via tier unlocks?

Kinda of what Mass Effect 3 MP has going for itself

So key codes are kind of your marks if you will for you DCUO vets

But one thing is I've noticed it seems like loot when rarely dropped in the field can be seen and picked up by everyone who attack the set enemy i.e. a share loot system of sorts?

Certainly seems to. The higher you get in your EGO rating, the higher probablility that enemies/arkfalls/etc drop higher rarity loot. So people CAN buy them via lockboxes, but they'll come across them just as frequently once at a higher level.

It is not shared loot, just the loot drops in the same spot for everyone. Your loot is your own.

it is a shared loot system, in an odd way. I've picked up loot that my friends can't see, and vice versa. Sometimes we both have a piece of shared loot from a target. The key codes however, you use to buy different tiered lockboxes, which give a random set and grade of items. Most of us have learned to focus on tier 3 lockboxes, as they seem to do the best in regards of weapons.

Loot isn't shared, the tiers aren't really tiers it's just how much you want to gamble. I found a sniper rifle and an assault rifle 15 minutes into the game and I have not found anything better in 5 days, nor will I be able to. The passive stats on oranges and purples are really bad and most of them don't even work as intended. Same with some of the ego skills like Executioner etc. There is still a lot for them to fix in this game.

Yes it a share sort of everyone gets something so no one is left out. so far I see tons of loot in Co op missions or larger side missions. Higher ego and perks you get the more loot you see just scale up and isnt a flat drop rate really.

I believe so. Ran a co-op with a couple of friends. The loot we got from one of the big guys was different for each of us. I got a Infector, my buddy got a shotgun and the other guy got a AR.
