This is good to know, and I feel one of the major downfalls with the game is the lack of telegraphed information to the player. I realize that the main draw to the game is the link between the game and the show. But many people will never watch the show, and many people who watch the show will never play the game.
So if Trion was able to teligraph more of the story into the game, I really like the concept. Not a lot of story tellers, especialy in media as fast paced as telivision or games, deal with coexisting with aliens. And I would really like to know more about the game world. But i have next to no info on the alien races. I dont even know their names.
I realize I could probably sit in game and read the Codex, but when im in game, I kinda want to play the game.
Perhaps they could move some of that codex stuff to the que screen, so when I have something to do instead of nothing.
Telling someone how they can improve is 200% more helpful then telling someone that they need to improve.
2-3 dollars for an outfit... wtf Mmos do you play. 10ish is just about right. Point being you can get tons of gear in the game. You don't have to use the shop.
Right, and I won't use the cash shop with prices the way they are. I am sure I am not the only one who feels that way. I am also sure there are people who will use the cash shop with prices the way they are.
My point is that if things were cheaper MORE people would buy them - and thus more money for Trion.
If only 10 people buy armor for $10 they make $100. 25 more people (who wouldn't have bought it at $10) WOULD buy it at $5 .. they'd make $125 (plus the 10 from before [$175]) . And - yes I am aware these numbers are low - but think in terms of 1500 vs 5000 or whatever the actual numbers may be.
It's all finding the right balance price wise. I just don't think Trion is there yet.
I have also been burned in the past on cash shops (only once though) and have decided for myself to hold off on any purchases until the prices correct themselves to the market.
I don't find the prices to be too unreasonable, would I disagree if they lowered the prices? Of course not, but at the same time the are pretty much inline with what other companies are doing. If you want to see insane prices you should check out Tera... they just released an outfit on their shop that costs $30 bucks for one toon. If you want both items it's $60.00 of course you could also try to win them in their lottery boxes at ~$1.50 an attempt.
Would I like them to be cheaper? Maybe, I obviously wouldn't mind.
What I WOULD like though is a $10 option for bits. Why does it go from $5, then $20, when $5 won't get you any of the vehicles or such.
Throw in a $10 option with a bonus 100 scrip for 1100 total.
Also a $30 option with a bonus 600 bits (3000 total) wouldn't hurt either.
