Do you keep progressing in weapon skill when the XP of the gun is full?

Lame. If this is true, that sucks.
I shudder to think of all the money I have spent on key codes and lock boxes that could have been spent on adding mod slots.

I mean, what's the point of swapping weapons then? Cosmetics?

We keep going back and forth on this:

During Alpha/Beta, if the weapon damage was maxed, it did NOT add to the weapon CLASS level any longer, and there was talk of a way to reset the individual weapon bar. I've never seen or figured out how to do that.

Supposedly, since launch, the weapon damage bar can be maxed out and you STILL gain class xp. I'm testing this currently with my AR, and my AR level is still increasing (at 5 now), even though the weapon damage bar was maxed out at level 3. I have no other AR's in my loadouts or in my inventory. This is using the Firestorm that comes with the ego training bonuses from the ark codes, which I'll probably STILL be using at level 5000. Not sure if this is a bug, or what the Dev's came up with in response to the massive feedback provided on this issue during Alpha and Beta testing.

You are confusing me. So do i need to change my sniper or not? :/

Thanks! Well problem is, my sniper XP is full, and i have no available snipers in my inventory! What should I do?

Go buy a new sniper rifle from a vendor or wait for one to drop.

Supposedly you dont gain more class xp when you use a weapon where the skill is maxed out. Tried this with my shotgun (shoots grenades, so OP) didnt get any class xp in shotgun if im not wrong.

Whats the highest level you can have in a weapon skill?

I'm still gaining in mine with a maxed out AR, but there's been word that this is a bug. I'm not sure, but I'm not dropping it until I know for sure

Hopefully this is something that's being addressed in the 8 pages of patch notes that's coming up for the April 15th patch (which I would guess will also have some elements from the TV show added in). I would like some Dev response to this however, so we can all spread the word and everyone can move forward smartly

i've been stuck on level 4 AR since 2 days ago, it most definetly is not gaining anymore xp, which is stupid, why should i have to go equip a worse weapon?

I thought when your ego went up, so did your max skill for said weapon? Oops. Good thing I got a purple the other day I need to level

Ive been using the same LMG since I started, and ive gained 3 levels of LMG since maxing that specific gun.
