Seems Nolan's weapon isn't giving me any more experience towards the skill now that I maxed it out, sitting at 7 assault rifle skill. Unless the bar is only moving like 1/10 of a mm every hour or so.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

I got SMG up to 7 and combat shotgun up to 6. Had to keep changing out weapons when mine maxed out.

There were people claiming they were getting XP with maxed weapons yesterday, so I tested it yesterday. I definitely was not getting XP with a maxed weapon.

I'm not saying it can't happen, like it is for PseudoCool. But until I know for sure what's going on, I'm using new weapons every time they max.

For instance, I bought five cheap, green SMGs from a vendor this morning, slapped cheap +mag mods in them, and ran several co-ops to get my SMG skill to 5th for the Going Commando pursuit.

Anyone who sais you can keep using your capped weapon to level weaponskills is full of ****, no offense.. being a nuub in the game I went from 1-500 using the same weapon, when I got worried that my weapon hadnt leveled for a significant amount of hours, I clicked h, went into help, and what do you know It clearly stated I would not be able to gain weapon skill xp with a capped weapon.

^Munx - Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I just hit AR 6 with Nolans gun, which I had capped about level 3 AR (since I'm NOT an AR junkie like a lot of people). I haven't seen this happen with any of my other weapons however, so I bugged it. And, that should also answer our question about capped weapons adding to our class skill as well... pity.. I was hoping they'd changed this.. hate getting weapons where I want them just to have to scrap em out.

I'm sitting at 7, and been sitting at 7 with nolan's gun and it's maxed out and my skill isn't going up at all.

Munx is correct. According to the actual game, you should not be getting experience from capped weapons.

So it's the Infinity Blade XP progression. K. I see not much of an issue. Have a loadout, or two, tricked out with your fave maxed weapons and one for leveling.

    Lol 1400 views.

Anyway, I told my friend who plays Borderlands 1 and 2 that you have to equip new weapons to gain xp, and he just looked at me like: "dude why?" And he's right. They really need to implement the "erase bonus and xp so you can regain xp and get a new bonus" thing.

    SERIOUSLY TRION! DO THIS!

I'm sorry, that's just not correct. As you can see in the screenshot provided by Arsenic_Touch, the help text speaks of 'weapon experience'. The word 'skill' - which Trion uses to describe your affinity towards a group of weapons - is nowhere to be found in the weapon mastery text. Just from reading that text I would assume that weapon experience references the individual xp bar each single weapon has, not the skill category.

Nonetheless, as stated by countless others, I too have not seen any progress in my weapon skill when using a maxed weapon.
