I just stood on top of the crate, sniped the 99ers and shot the Smelters when they were beneath me with a shotgun. It hits the tank almost every time. Just roll to avoid the grenade spam from the boss, and only two 99ers spawn at a time.

The respawning outside room and mission resetting on dying part sucks and would be nice if they could change it. But the actual fight while it can be frustrating, gets easier if you use the right tactics.

Once the smelters start try to avoid all the other mobs, if you leave them alone they will attack Rosa and ignore you. For the smelters if you run up and melee them they fall down, making it easier to put a bullet in their backpack. Or wait till they stop and are just going to flame you and dodge roll sideways, then shoot them in the back.

Pyro greandes used to be good but the refresh on grenade now is longer and if you miss with it your out of luck. If you find a flare pistol in game that could help with them. The mission can also get bugged where after you have extracted once, then even if your revive timer is refreshed, it wont let you use it if you die, it just immediately extracts you and that really gets frustrating. I had that and finally dropped mission and went and did other stuff for a while, then tried it again next time I played.

    was frustrated then happy

At first i was ticked off ,.. i had done the run about 3 times then realized i could , stealth up when the flamer guys come ,..and easily shoot their tank, then do a bit of dmg on the boss,.. of course i had to grenade the flamer every other one and kill him outright because stealth was not up yet,.."hitting that tank is a pain in the *** sometimes.

but then i got to phase 2,.. the BOSS fight,.. again it took me about 3 tries to get a system down,.. but it was just a ring around the crates run kinda move kite maneuver,.. so after 6 tries i won the fight ,..still a bit of a nail biter,.. but i did the YEAH! happy victory thing when beat him ,..I'm just an average gamer so sticking with it and beating what at first seems soooo difficult was a WIN for me ,.. so i wouldn't change the fight and make it easier,.. without challenges thta hard every so often the game would be boring,..and you would not feel like you accomplished anything.

I am stuck as well the respawning outside sucks specially for a solo mission, when you die you should respawn inside and all the mobs you already took down should count, it really is a bad design to start all over every time you die.

For older players gets hard to coordinate properly, this is one of those missions that you need to join a group or at least let you join a group

mmm I have cloak as well and this took me some time but I didnt die doing it. Used a 7shot pump action fire shotgun and the quest reward purple assault rifle (Episode quest reward I believe?), both relatively unmodded (cause i seem to only find infector/RL/GL mods).

    Perks are (were)
    Standing Still reduces dmg taken
    Crouched reduces dmg taken
    Increase Cloak duration
    Decrease Cloak cooldown
    Cloak 4 or 5

The shotgun lights the little smelter fools on fire easily though I guess the incend grenade would be even easier (didnt use it, used a blue frag which kills most things when soloing 1shot). The only thing that probably saved me was being able to stay stealthed a good like 15seconds at a time or so. It lets Rosa take most of the heat when things were getting dicey and I could easily sneak up on smelters for the tank shots to light them on fire when Cloaked.

I have not used anything except Cloak to this point (almost 700EGO though thats not all that high) and I know from scoreboards in co-ops im not nearly as good as some (probably half) the players playing when it comes to dishing out damage. If my baddie self can get through it, you can too :P

Worst comes to worst, spend the scrip to respec into Decoy for the fight, iv thought about doing it but then remember just how much Cloak saves my bacon.

This. Another thing you can do if you are decent at bunny hopping and shooting is to wait until they flame you, jump up and shoot them from above.

Trust me, the last boss fight is far, far worse than this one.

I hear all your slow and steady, but when 6 elites come a you at once, slow and steady doesn't cut it. I continually get ravaged on this part, not even making it to the flamers at all. As a sniper, the LAST thing my character would do is jump down off that nice safe ledge that's got both height and some cover, so taking that choice away from me at the beginning is rather crappy. The fight should be doable with ANY spec, not a specific "Take a BMG and heal yourself til they get tired of fighting and die from exhaustion" type of strategy.

This is bad design, and this needs to be rebalanced, not necessarily nerfed, but give those of us who like to snipe from a distance a chance. At least give us the decision whether or not to jump down and fight up close and personal.

As it stands now, I abandoned it and am just running around patrolling the roads for encounters. Not what I would prefer to be doing. I would rather be following the storyline, but as it stands now, that's impossible.

This is why you have multiple loadouts. Not all weapons are good for all situations.

I recommend an Assault Rifle and a Sniper Rifle if you love the distance game.

The little flamer guys were a pain til I realized I could just smack them and then shoot the tanks. Melee is your friend on this one.

I'm not trying to be rude, but if you do jump down and fight that way - take your sniper rifle with you. Work on your CQB sniping (quickscoping) a bit and life in this game will get A LOT easier. Used in that sense, the bolt action sniper is one of the most powerful weapons in this game.
