My personal 0% DMG Charge Tele-Spanner deals 12267 damage per second and Legendary rolled +2 Links, putting it at a potential DPS of 36801. Assuming Cannoneer works, it would almost add 1 extra tick per second. In my case, it would add a minimum of 1104 DPS and a maximum of 3312 DPS on paper. I don't see a need to min/max an offensively challenged weapon but what you do in your free time is none of my business.
BMGs heal? So that's what that other button does! Seriously though, I have let everyone around me and myself die rather than use a BMG for healing. Far as I'm concerned it's a multi target dps machine for people with bad aim (me) and/or nerve damage that causes hand shake (also me). Well, now that I found the joy of a piper I rarely use the bmg but I keep them around if my hands are shaking more than usual.
I tried out a cannoneer build on one a long time ago and did not notice any increase in frequency of hits or any change at all. Bear in mind that was a single set of tests and I was trying to count the times numbers popped out of an enemy so I could be mistaken but that was my experience.
Edit: thinking about it, it should make no difference at all because the bmg doesn't deal damage on a per shot basis but a per second basis broken up into many parts (seems to be about 10/sec). Making it hit 11 times or even 50 times a second wouldn't change the per second numbers.
IMO the only useful synergies for BMG are assassin and plate slicer. I put whatever t4 mods I have available regardless of synergy on all my other bmgs.

I was under the impression that stalker's range increase applied to the initial beam (not the links). Anyone know for certain? If so I would say that isn't a bad one. And quartermaster also affects it; though the card always says .5 if you aren't looking at it from the attach mods section. Then it says the actual time. Think it's 2.4 base. At least that's what it is on my weaver mkI.
