Signing into the account on the website still asks for it, but the client no longer asks.
Was this intentional or a bug? if it's intentional, that needs to change or be made as a setting so I can manually authenticate each time. Guild wars 2 had this problem where there was no way to opt out of the auto authentication and that's a security flaw. Hopefully this is just a bug or they plan on putting a setting which allows you to manually authenticate.

Well around 10 this morning I posted noticing that the authenticator didn't actually DO anything. you could leave it blank and log right in. So...
Sometimes you just need to blow stuff up.
It only works if you have an authenticator attached, otherwise it gives login errors if you enter the wrong one or leave it blank. (which is what it's supposed to do) the field is now gone completely after a launcher update.Originally Posted by Dekar

For whatever reason the authenticator code was never needed. Even though I have one on my account I could log into the game without it. I find this very bothersome and I hope this is resolved post haste.
Edit: Just updated my patcher and I see what you mean, the whole authenticator space is gone. So not cool...
anyone els getting flashbacks to Rift.... had a guildmate setting for 1 hour hitting login, to prevent the hacker from stealing his stuff as each time someone logs in, the other is loged out.....
