Exp bar on weapon

So I maxed the exp bar on my AR and my BMG, should I still use them or get new ones? Because I also just got a Orange AR that is SO GOOD and was wondering what I would do if I maxed that out as well.

Do I still get exp for lvling up the AR Skill even if the weapon Im using has its EXP maxed on it?

I really would like an upgraded AR, I'm at ego level 422 and I've had the same AR for way too long. Waiting for an improved weapon.

Ya I one I got is cool, when I reload it recharges my Ego Power by 10% and it gives me 1.15Crit and has all four slots open.

I just wanna know if I should keep using it if I max it out? And if I do and still keep using it will my weapon proficiency still go up or no?

Bump, I am wondering this same thing and can only find conflicting threads as to whether you continue to gain weapon type exp even if that specific weapon is maxed.

The proficiency should still go up as that's for the weapon in general, not the specific weapon you're using.

once you max out a weapon the proficiency in that weapon type stops gaining xp. You have to re-equip a new firearm of that type to continue gaining more proficiency levels etc.
