Regardless of what others talk about Rushing, the main story is about 10-12 hours or so with the Episode missions as well.

From there it varies on how you want to spend your time. You'll have Episode missions (around 4), a huge amount of repetitive side missions (go here, scan this, report back) that are worth the same xp/rewards all the way through San Fran at the end. There's a few different side missions, like 8-10, that are series that reward better gear than the cut and paste side missions.

After that it's all about four things:

    1. Farming contracts for rep. You'll need 1000's of rep on the vendor you want to gamble for mods with set bonuses on items. Since the mod you get will be random for weapon and may not even be the one you want it if it is it's going to be a huge rep grind on contracts.

    2. Major Arkfalls. Minor Arkfalls leading up to it will drop white/greens and then majors are usually a green/blue/purple or two. Also the only way to get decent XP after you hit 40 Ego Skill Points. XP/level goes up about 2k per level so eventually you hit this wall of requiring 100k+ just to get another point (at 42 it's currently 62k).

    3. Pursuits. There's a lot of Ego ranks to gain out of doing Pursuits and most will spread you out pretty thin on things to do. For example some pursuits require multiple weapon types/kills or ranks with certain weapons.

    4. PvP. Not a fan of PvP in this game currently. It's all about the Cloak N Shotgun play which gets boring after a while. Entirely too fast and the amount of damage vs amount of HP you got is just stupidly balanced. Most TTKs are under a second which really plays up the whole whoever sees the other person first wins which just promotes Cloak N Shotgun play. I normally like PvP, but it's just too fast to enjoy it for my tastes.

here we go, from todays state of the game post:

What’s our DLC plan? – I’ve seen a lot of you mention this and this is material for an entire blog post because there is so much I want to talk about. However, let’s be short. There are at least 5 DLCs this year. They all have a free and paid component. We do not want to segregate our playerbase so we always want everybody be able to participate and play with friends. The free part is features and content, the paid part is essentially, say, access to a new playable species with a bundle of stuff with it. The upcoming TV tie-ins aren’t DLCs that cost either. It’s all yours.

it looks a lot like the lotro style of DLC, where they'll let you into the zones to wander around and kill things, but will likely lock down the majority of missions, and instances. might let you join a co-op mission, but not initiate it. what this does tell us though, is that new content will be coming. episode content. and the first dlc in...6-8 weeks? they mentioned the april 15th patch, another major one 2 weeks after, and then the first big content update about a month later. I could to back and check the post, but i'm too lazy and want to play today

i suspect they have hard dates for dlc like they did with launch. to tie into certain episodes of the show.

    i suspect something like

in show: x char leaves the town *mysteriously*
in game: new episode misisons with x char that left the town *mysteriously*

i'm almost giddy with excitement for the cliches and tropes this will spawn.

Ill write what i wrote in a similar topic before.

Bioshock infinite will take you about 10 - 15 hours to complete if u decide to not sprint through it. with a sprint u can do it in 5 hours. There is only one ending and the multiplayer is kinda lacking. U do unlock a new difficulty but thats it. aka no real replayability. This game has now gotten the top grades from all reviewers around the globe and been praised to high heavens. this costs you 50 euros.

Battlefield and Call of duty series singleplayer story will take you about 6 - 8 hours to get through on a regular run. It has multiplayer in the form of pvp to keep them going afterwards but once again if u aim for pve only then you paid 50 euros for that as well.

Defiance has a main story line that lasts u about 8 - 12 hours which is excluding the side missions, the instances, the pvp, the possibilities to try and perfectionise ur gun (yes even with the "Lack" of gear progression you people so point out it is actually quite hard to reach the top since it demands quite alot of work as well as luck)
The grind to ego lvl 5000 (noticing theres a complaint about this but im currently ego level 1048 with 3 days played. Yes I also did play quite alot but honestly its not as hard to get up as u think it is. Vanilla wow took u nearly a month to get to 60 so I dont see the problem really and that was still a questgrind. :-) )
There are also unlocks in the form of achievs and the regular reputation grind that mmos tend to have.
And to top it all off. Due to the difference in genre where this is not mash buttons 1 2 3 4 5 while standing still but instead you have to move around and aim and then shoot. Also for me its rather satisfying watching the different kinds of deaths as well =P
This game you also paid 50 euros for unless you decided to pay the extra dime for the deluxe edition and theres no monthly subscription.

Where in hell did you pay too much for too little when you compare it to other games out there?
Yes I am well aware that they are in different genres but when you pay for a game you pay for entertainment and mmos last longer than the regular games which makes them well worth the dime if the gameplay is as well super fun.

Will finish and say as well that they are planning to do regular updates on the game as the series progresses and this is only the prelude. Someone also said this somewhere in the thread. :-)

Just My 2 cents. How many hours daily are you putting into this game? My playing style is one of stopping to smell the roses. I play abut 2-3 hours, per day, since game came out. I think most ppl just sit there for hours upon hours playing which of course you finish in 1-3 days and are left with what now. Ive got tons of side quests to do along with main quests, what I love is being able to take a break from missions and shoot bugs/mechs or what have you.

i think its just u ive played for 3 days and im only on the 4th main mission havent even done the second episode. If u wanna rush threw the game dont complain about it being to short and there are lots of other stuff to do than just missions, im so busy doing major ark falls i dont have time for missions can never get bored of them and ive done over 15 already

alright, since this seems to be the proper place to ask

where do I pick up the mish that has to be finished before the 15? I have done all main and side quests everywhere, all that are left are a few time trials and hotspots/rampages
