Mass Effect 3 would lock up once in a while but at least I could reboot by the power button...pulling power doesn't make me happy. Hopefully there is something that will come around to fix this issue soon...not a fun one at all.
Having to pull the plug is really worrisome =\. I've had the game beep my PS3 one too many times that I'm comfortable with. Happened just now. I'll be ready to shut down by logging out of the game and bringing up the in-game XMB to shut down and the PS3 will beep before doing so. I've gotten into the habit of exiting directly to the XMB first to do so but the game still did it this time and forced the PS3 to restart =\

I've got the slim 160 gig. I rarely had DCUO freeze on me but when it did I could just hit the power button and it would work. Never encountered this situation until now.

In my easily 20+ hrs of playing this game so far, I have had one occurrence where it completely Froze the PS3 (I had to turn the power switch off to recover). I am not worried about my PS3 dying because of a software error specific to this game. The PS3 is very resilient. I also have the digital copy of the game from the PSN store.

I have had numerous instances where this game gets the Infinite Load screen. It just goes to that Load screen and never progresses, always it is before some cutscene is supposed to start. The only thing I can do is use the PS-Home button to quit game and then re-launch it. The worse thing about this is the game still auto-saves that I am past that cutscene so I basically get skipped over some important cutscenes. If they had cinema viewer or something where I can re-watch old cutscenes... I would be fine with the bug.

I have had one instances where instead of getting cutscene, I got a black screen and voice dialog only. Once the cutscene ended, the game world remained pitch black. You could only see that sun-set in the distance but everything else was blackened. The start and select menus would come up and were fully functional. I used the logoff function, then quit, then re-launched the game to be back to normal.

Game certainly has some serious software issues left for the developers to fix.

If holding down the front power on/off light doesn't work, there is a power switch on the back of the PS3 which can be used. There should be no reason to unplug it. If you do use the power switch on the back, when you restart it, it will want to do a disk check and some other extra steps to re-check things. Can take a while if it has to repair any corruption.

The machine is resilient and built to last.

The infinite load screen that you sometimes get before cutscenes is my biggest complaint. Everything else I am more okay with because it will eventually get fixed... but how will they fix me not getting the right cutscenes and flow of game as intended. That boat has sailed.

Newer PS3s don't have a power button on the back. I froze a few times also. Now with holding down the power button normally 8 seconds it would restart on other games if it froze. When Defiance freezes I have to hold it down for around 15-20 seconds. I was expecting to get the disk corruption check screen when it starts back up but it hasn't.

I'm stuck on a mission because of this glitch/bug. Waiting for it to be patched I guess. The mission starts off fine enough but when a cutscene rolls, it goes all black and I can't see squat after the scene finishes.

Had several infinite loading loops first 2 days, then ok.
    Never in game freezes !
My Ps3 is less then 1 year old.

I suggest simply reinstall the game on your harddisk or wait n see after new patch coming out soon

Anyone else keep freezing (as in have to pull the cable off to restart ps3) on the Explosions 101 co-op mission? I froze completely 3 times in a row, after the two i just thought it was a coincidence and having my ps3 heating too much or something, but i waited for like 30 min and tried again after it had cooled off but the same thing happened again.

    I have Slim 320g

Update: Ok it freezes hard after a while anyway, apparently it wasn't just the co-op...
