Question regarding lock boxes and when to buy them

I obtained 1,200 bits from the Ultimate edition and was curious if it was prudent to wait on spending those (let's say on lock boxes) until I achieve a higher EGO rating or does it matter? My EGO rating is only 150 or so currently, so I was just curious if the weapons scaled according to the EGO rating in the lock boxes? I just don't want to blow those bits on junk I will replace instantly with weapons I already have.

You can earn enough keycodes and scrip to buy lockboxes to be honest. But if you dont wish to grind then spend away.

As for the loot the damage seems to stay the same for the weapons you just get better stats and nano effects the higher you are. Also once you max a weapon exp out you might as well throw it away as you wont gain any weapon skill exp from using it.

Thanks for the reply. I bought a couple tier 2 boxes and was just curious on the scaling. I think I will hold onto the bits for the time being. Appreciate your advice.

Personally I feel you're probably better off saving / using the bits for something else that you cant get in game like some extra boosters when yours run out or one of the outfits or something. Ive bought well over a dozen lockboxes already since Tuesday without having to grind for it or anything. You'll not only get keycodes to spend on them just from doing missions, pvp, etc but you can also break down all your junk loot for the green resources which you can then buy more keycodes with.
