    Seeing Red

Well, sad to say, but I won't be on Xbox for a while, and I don't know when I will be back. My Xbox has the dredded Red Ring of Death. Going to see if I can get it fixed once I have the money, which will hopefully be in a few days. If not, then to all my friends and clan mates: See you when I see you.
    Athena out.

it works for a weird reason... the red ring is casued by some componet getting too hot, and the solder melting, and it falling out of place. so you get it to overheat again, in the hope that the same soulder melts again, and the componet goes back in.

but whats more likely is that more bits fall out...

    OP

how old is your xbox? give the MS help line a ring. if its o a certain age, it will be replaced for free. with a similar one. but if its not that old, but out of warrenty... you might not be so lucky.

why might thye replace it? well.. they put the wrong soldering in for a year or so, which casued this problem, then changed it to a better one. so if its of the older type, they know its there fault its broken. but if its on the newer solder, its 'your fault''

It's fixed, I unplugged it for a full 24 hours, plugged it back in and turned it on, problem went away.
