Class specific weapons?

With the classes (I guess you can call them that) I was wondering if their are different weapons that will give some classes a boost of some sort over others.

For example: Machinists get damage boost with LMG's or something like that. Almost as if each class kinda has it's own specific weapon.

Anyone know by any chance?

They call them origins, and the word was (not tested this so I don't know if it's true) is that picking an origin will give you an immediate leg up in a specific weapon class. But, over time you can change to whatever weapon you want and individually level those up.

So I could go Veteran and level up a sniper rifle, etc etc.

You're not bound to anything but there seems to be some type of immediate up front increase. At least that's what I gathered from the stream chats.

I read somewhere that the level cap is 5000 and the highest recorded during beta was something like 300-400. Meaning that if you spend a good couple thousand hours in game, eventually you'll have unlocked everything. If that is still the case.

to cut a long story short no. There is no class system. What you select at the start is for starting weapon and look. After that its completly up to you

ye i started with one set of weapons and ended up using 4-5 types at various points very flexible and alot more fun as your not really tied into one set

level cap is not 5000, they said someone worked out theres around 5000 levels, ego power weapon etc. which will go up as new content is added. they evven said they expect very few players actually max out.

to give people an idea of how long that takes one guy in the live stream even said it took him 20-30 hours to get to around 400.

dont expect to be hitting maxium level any time soon

I am not sure if anyone can answer this and I cannot really tell from the videos I have found. Is there more to "leveling" or progressing than ego powers? Do you get more proficient with different types of weapons with use or anything?

have you looked at the live streams? they do go into it a bit, or at least talk about it. they pretty much say there is no leveling system as most know it, you go up in power levels that allows you to access more content, cooler looking guns new zones etc, then theres an ego system which again goes up.
