    Partial reloading of certain weapons

    I know I've seen a thread about this but it's not on the first couple of pages and I don't want to perform necromancy.

    I know for a fact that sawed off shotguns and pump shotguns are occasionally only reloading half of the magazine during a full reload which is triggered by emptying the magazine. I have not had this happen when actively reloading the weapons through a button press; but I also have not tested that thoroughly.

    I did tests today using various rigs and it appears to be linked to the "mag spiker" and "mag avenger" bonuses. I have six different rigs with different bonuses on them and the four that have one or both of those bonuses will partially reload at varying rates. I'm not sure what the rate is; and it seems to fluctuate, but it definitely occurs more with the rig which has both of the named bonuses (about 1 out of 4 reloads or so over the course of 50 consecutive reloads). The other rigs would occasionally reload properly as many as 8-10 times in between partial reloads.

    All tests today were done using an OJ Zagger mkII. Non combat; varying methods of firing were used including spamming the fire button; single presses so I only pressed the fire button twice in between full reloads though attempting to time it so as to obtain maximum firing rate without extra button presses and allowing time in between shots from 3-5 seconds. All methods resulted in partial reloads though spamming appeared to result in the most partials and the other two methods were about equal.

    Don't know if it's related, but I've noticed that ammo drops on the ground frequently don't do anything to top off your ammo pool. You'll get the 'pick up' animation, but the numbers don't change, and there's no notification in the UI that you picked up anything.

    Valethar: in your situation did you have less than a full mag plus one missing from you ammo pool? So if you were using an AR with a mag of 50; did you have less than 449 rounds left?

    I was curious about that happening a while back and was told that if your ammo pool isn't at max but it has less than one full clip plus one round missing it will consume the ammo drop but provide no ammo. It's really annoying and especially problematic with very high magazine weapons, particularly on snipers or rocket launchers with their low ammo pools. Like the sovereign sniper I have with 32 rounds in the magazine. If I don't need 33 rounds I pick up ammo and get nothing. In expeditions this sucks due to the infrequent drops.

    This is probably server lag related, causing the rig proc to be seen early/late resulting in odd behavior.

    Neptunian; I don't see how weapons not reloading completely is 1) a graphical error as it has an actual effect in game beyond visually and 2) how the rig proc showing up on screen on time or late has to do with the issue. Also; I ruled out lag when testing by testing from both an unpopulated area where even my needlers aren't losing firing rate due to framerate slowdown and during major arkfalls (outside area of arkbreak as well as scrapper and hellbug hellion).

    It could be a graphical issue at the root but the effects definitely impact game function. I've so far been unable to reproduce the effect every time I reload; but it definitely happens about every third reload when using the rig with both mag spiker and mag avenger while spam firing and not actively reloading while I use my Zagger.

    Honestly this bug doesn't really affect me as I've only experienced it with pump and sawed off shotguns; neither of which I use on a regular basis. But a bug is a bug and thus should be at least brought to the devs so they can handle or ignore it at their discretion.
