    price guide

I would think this topic has come up before. How difficult would it be to make a price guide ?would we need one for each platform and server?wouldnt it be nice to have a becket type price guide to ballpark grenades, guns, mods, and sheilds?I would buy a mothly subscription !
    Fuzzy?

Prices are all subjective, based on what the individual buyer/seller thinks they're worth. I'm not sure any given list is going to be accurate, given the lack of anything that could be used to provide a benchmark from day to day (such as an auction house, etc...)

One person may think something is worth a million, someone else will say 4 million, a third will think it's only worth 2 and a quarter at most. If you're relying on forum posts to build the list, the data is mostly going to be from people who have an agenda (getting the most for what they're selling, or buying it as cheaply as possible) and it would be subject to troll poisoning.

It's an interesting idea, but in practice, if it were possible to build an honest consensus for the list, I imagine it would have been done long ago.

I don't think there would be much problem coming up with prices .most things already have an ingame value that most agree on.take arkforge as an example .if something was priced to high or low the guide can be adjusted .there are plenty of gamers that would be happy to let it be known to adjust it.it would take time to value everything the first time.

Take for example, guns should have a unmodded value that changes per 1000 ego then have a increase for different nanos, another for ideal rolls and another for best mastery and another for proper mods .

this is a guide, not the exact price.every gun will fall in a price range.it would still be up to the seller to market all the added value of rolls, ego ,mods, and mastery.but they will have a guide to show why it deserves that price.then may the best negotiator win!

You will always have motivated buyers and sellers and whales.it would be up to you whether you buy or sell above or below the guides value.

if you have a premium item like a piper you probably would be better doing an auction any way.but the guide could still show price ranges for the variations described above.but those guns are not really the point of the guide.an appraiser would be better for rare items and their prices are based on production ,availability, what the last one like it sold for and who has the money and who wants it.

It's not any different than a car price guide.it gives you a place to start .you can never accurately value a rare car like a ferrari or lamborghini.and that's not the point of a guide.

Don't confuse the guide with an appraisal

I think the hard part is starting one.dont get hung up on pricing exotics .start at the bottom and go up.not every individule thing needs a price.

Take cars as an example.cars use condition which is subjective and has room for interpretation of guides

The purpose of this guide would be to put a value on everyday items in defiance and expand from there.

I don't have the time or skills required to do this but I would be happy to add in put and assistance.

It may seem monumental at fisrt but lets start small and just try it!

To valethar, I agree prices are subjective.gun prices would still vary accordingly. A guide is simply a guide.items would be priced in a range .giving a base value for everything so you can just add up all you options would be too much.if you had a price range it could prevent sticker shock and discourage the zone shouts of green guns 900 ego for 20k

Having a guide would allow both people who think different on the price to come to an informed price agreement that could be more reliable than a shout in zone or a forum price check.

There are a few player merchants on each platform that could be tapped to assist in determining the values of items they sell routinely.

The defiance community is pretty vocal. I'm sure this would get heavy use and if it were inaccurate we would hear about it.

I would really like to hear from more of you.please share your thoughts

An actual ingame market would be a great thing in this game.
They say most of your brain shuts down on the Defiance forums. All but the impatient side, and the sarcastic side. No wonder I'm still awake.

A price guide would help buyers make better offers.
better offers less wasted time.think about it.all we need to do is pool up some resourceful gamers and try.could be come a cool community project.

Guess I'm just talking outloud.keep critns why im spending so much time here.

Can't think of a reason not to want a price guide.has this been attempted before?point me to it please.

I seem to remeber when the game first came out there was a correlation with the cards recommended value and the scrip price.any freemason or brown coat remember, thats still playing?
