Disable Automatic Equipping?

When I loot a new item that the game thinks is better than the one I'm using it automatically equips it. The problem is it's usually not really better or it's something I don't want to use. How can I disabled this feature?

by not holding down the use button, just do a simple tap.

Dont hold E when you pick it up, its like borderlands where it will replace it if you do that, instead just tap E and you're all set
