and by better I basically mean fix or put them back to the way they were when they came out.
Gunslinger:
so the basic problem with the gunslinger rewards is you now have to choose which vendor box to get with your vbi rep. rep that you now, in some cases, have to pay to get due to expedition contracts. one could argue just use your vbi rep on a gunslinger crate and your tarr rep on a vbi crate. problem solved. the problem with that is now that becomes the only way to pull both boxes and what if I'm trying to get a specific faction weapon and its no vbi. now i give up mu chance at the regular vbi crate for a second chance at a TN or soleptor crate and tarr crates cost twice the rep.
So i suggest either a) put oj gunslinger drops back in the t2 rewards boxes for gunslinger arenas or if this is not possible without effecting all t2 lock boxes b) make the t2 rewards crate from the arena the same as the t3 that is in the vendor. then it either becomes possible to grind out an oj or use your rep for a chance at gunslinger weapons or you could also go with c) give gunslinger it's own contracts and rep which we've asked for since it cam out, but seems to be a more complicated route than my previous suggestions.
7th legion:
So this dlc is pretty much good except for the event rewards. it has it's own faction, rep, contracts, and lock box.
however why or when did the weapon rewards change. when the dlc first came out it was possible to get oj 7th legion weapon drops from incursions. When this was the case incursions were as overpopulated as a holiday event. wether this was because defiance hit it's stride in the game or was just because the rewards were new or worth the time i don't know. this stopped somewhere along the way and the oj drops came from the entire weapon pool. Then for some reason the oj drops became few and far between and now theres rarely more than 24 ppl at one of these unless someone invites a bunch of ppl to bath house so a member of their clan can hit round 10 for their pursuit.
I just think that if these things were fixed, and i think a lot of your player base would agree, that you would see these dlcs purchased more and that your players would feel more rewarded for doing so.
lock boxes, jack pots, and economy:
I wasn't going to put this in this thread but i think it's along the same lines. players need to feel rewarded for playing the game.
since it has become harder to get an oj drop and even harder than that to get decent rolls on a oj drop. i think event and lock box rewards need a slight buff in oj drops. I also think oj grenades should be put back in t2 lock boxes, buying a grenade for close to a million scrip is just stupid and making them more available will push them back down towards the 100k price range they used to be at.
jackpots I understand the premium lock box makes complete sense. I understand wanting the player to feel unique by having this special weapon, but what you've actually done is more harm to the economy and its even hard to get a jack pot from the premium box also. i'm not saying I want every jack pot, but i do think i should feel like i have a chance to get every jackpot for free in game.
for instance...I wanted a chaos, not necessarily an order, but they go together so i dropped $200 in lock boxes alone didn't get either nor did i from in game. I fact I haven't gotten a jack pot since the guardian angel and i have received every jack pot before this except for the respark regen ark, because destiny, didn't get a hellcat which was fine cause i didn't want it got an emancipator, but wasn't trying to just buying sol boxes for t4 mods and was lucky and so far I have spent $100 to try to get a liberty eagle and haven't. now don't get me wrong. i drop $300-$400 a month on defiance regardless, be it ark forge, patron pass, ect, but i think if I'm spending this much to get a weapon and don't your drop rates are a little off and when your drop rates are off it makes that weapon worth a stupid amount in game and therefore messes up the economy. jackpots should drop at a rate that isn't extreme or common but at a rate to where if I'm willing to spend $100 on a lock box that has a greater chance to give me one I should get it.
I think you'll find by adding better balance and opportunity to oj drop rates. the players will feel more rewarded, the population will increase, more bits will be bought, and the in game economy will improve. then you can create an in game script and salvage sink and the players won't care.
thank you for reading and I hope you will take some of my ideas into consideration and that this thread won't receive to many smart comments. good luck to me on the last one, lol
