    Noob questions about guns

Hey guys I just started this game not so long ago. I got in a major Arkfall and got some guns I don't know if they are worth keeping. Could you guys evaluate the value for me? I'm only at 1k Ego and I don't have any DLCs yet.

1/ Orange VOT Heavy Plasma Repeater Mk II (Veteran Synergy, Radiation):

2/ Green 7th Legion Sumimoto (Radiation):

3/ Purple VOT Volge Thunderer Pistol (Fire):

7th legion is useless to you without the DLC, AFAIK, as you cannot equip the weapons.

The thunderer pistol is pretty weak as far as rolls go. No crit, no damage, so it's a novelty gun you can use if you don't have a better pistol, then break it for salvage later.

The Plasma Repeater has some good rolls, but it's a backpack synergy, so you'd need another weapon with that synergy to get the bonus. However, it also leaves you free to put whatever mods you want into it without having to worry about matching them to a synergy.

It would be interesting to see the full screen capture of the weapons. What level are they, etc..?

Dont you need Arkbreaker to use the plasma and thunderererer, too?
    These are just my opinions.
    I have lots of opinions.
Some of them, on occasion, people have agreed with.
I do not trust those people.

    NA/pc.
    2013:
Mid E-5XXX main, but I played 26+ 'toons from E400 to E5500. (Dormant)
    2050: Lvl 499X main

Plasma Repeater is at 917. 1017 for Volge Thunderer, and 1041 for 7th legion.
I don't know if it's just because of the resolution but at 1366x768 res I have to scroll up and down to see the whole stats of guns.

Actually, yes, now that I've looked them up. I had the Season Pass right from the start, so I never thought too much about DLC requirements for most things. O.o

The resolution could be messing with you, yes. I just find it easier for the thought process when I can actually see what I'm trying to help with. Getting old sucks...

You're close enough to the level of the guns to make them useful in a short amount of time, if you haven't already leveled up by now. The real problem you're going to have is DLC requirements. Looking up the sniper rifle and pistol, you do indeed need the Arkbreaker DLC to use them, and the assault rifle requires the 7th Legion DLC. The only way those weapons are going to be of any use to you is with the corresponding DLC so you can equip them.

If you're thinking of getting the DLC's soon, it may be worth hanging onto the sniper rifle. It's probably not the best on the rolls (depends on who you ask) but it looks fairly decent (orange damage roll is good), and you can eventually upgrade that to match your level, with a corresponding increase in its base stats.

Only the orange weapon is worth keeping, and only for the near-term.
The basic rule worth living by while leveling is: Unless it is an epic "named" orange weapon; or an orange weapon non-named of particularly high quality, it is a waste of Arkforge to keep it leveled with you.
When leveling, the best thing to do is make your way through to the ego cap on blue or purple weapons (scrap or sell greens nearly instantaneously; unless you're using one to fill a "gap").
Blue weapons with reasonable rolls can be very useful (eg. especially if they have a blue damage roll for instance), and they are cheap to level up.
Purples give a better combat edge over blue (as a rule); but cost more to level up.
Here's the Arkforge cost to level by colour:
    Blue: 4
    Purple: 10
    Orange: 25
I do not mention green or white as they are nearly pointless to level (only good for ark salvage or selling for scrip).
As an example of how much an Orange costs to level: At your 1k ego, that Sniper Rifle is going to cost you 1,000 Arkforge to get it to 5k.
And for a backpack gun that is not used in any of the endgame content that's a waste of good Arkforge.
You are far better off getting a solid Blue or Purple Bolt Action Sniper rifle with a Mod Synergy and getting your Bolt Action kills with that.
Also note that Bolt Action Sniper Rifles in this game are only really used to get the "Snipe Frome the Shadows" pursuit...then they are nearly useless. - There are a couple of exceptions; but this is the rarity and not the norm.
The other two guns you have there are not worth worrying about.
A good Thunderer Pistol can be fun AND be effective; but the one you have there is not that good because of the rolls it has.

It's not the bullet with my name on it that worries me. It's the one that says, "To whom it may concern".
