I do think it is too easy for new players back when I started the Golden Gate was blocked by a monolith you could not pass till you got to that mission now it's not even there just pieces.

You newbs CAN'T come waltzing in and expect to be my equal just because you agreed to a TOS and logged in.

I understand that players want to be able to play with friends who are lower level.
    Fine.
Group with the lower level players, and your superpowers scale DOWN TO THEM.
Socialism is great, but lets not be nuts about it.

Maybe make some WMs appear near the upper left corner with WMs who didn't drink their milk as sprouts, and aren't as tough.
Newbs in a vet level WM, when they don't know or don't care how to win, is part of the philosophy thats ruining the game.
I agree with everything except this.

When I joined my first clan, I was a mere 900Ego. I was going places that I had no right going to, Had my *** handed to me several times until I leveled up and learned what to do. When the Volge were introduced, they owned my like I was their bytch. After learning what I needed to do to beat them, they got easier.

That's the key here though. The learning aspect of the game. The biggest complainers of the game are those that don't want to learn and want everything given to them.

I earned my EGO. I went through the trials and tribulations to get my character where it is. I spent many hours doing the grinding to get the resources to acquire the gear I have. I lived through all the stability issues and game mechanic changes that turned my inventory useless on more than one occasion.

Go ahead and make parts of the game harder. I can stand my own because I earned the level I'm at. Don't punish me because of "fairness" or political correctness.

Either move up through the ranks and stand at my side or fall at my feet...Earn it!

Edit... like certain parts of the map stay certain threat lvls
Im into this idea to an extent. I think certain parts of the map should have a minimum threat level if Trion goes this route.

    Mount Tam - 1/10
    Madera - 3/10
    Marin - 5/10
    Sausalito - 5/10
    San Fran - 6/10
    Silicon Valley - 8/11

This would make it a few shades closer to being 'progression' based like other MMOs with players going into Zones that their character might not be high enough level to do. Of course though Players will still get buffed if they are under leveled in Zones. And high end player can still go to the lower TL Zones and up them a bit do to their level to have some kind of personal challenge... if any...

Mount Tam would be Noob Town while Silicon Valley would be more of a Zone for the Vet Players.

I don't think lower ego players should get buffed.

When the volge were introduced, I didn't get buffed when I was with higher ego clan mates or friends. I "progressed", got better, and leveled up to where I could stand my own ground.

The is nothing "progressive" when players get "buffed".

Either that, or penalize the buff. If a player is in an area where buffing is needed/granted, then slow the amount of xp earned during the buffed period or something similar.

I'm tired of ppl getting shyte handed to them because they chose not to start the game til later.

They took the lazy way out. Instead of finding a way to prevent people from teleporting to friends/clanmates to pick up waypoints, they just took away the monolith.

Something I noticed recently (which could very well possibly be entirely coincidence) is that if I log a mule character in (well below 100 EGO) the zone chat gets/is very newbish which does not seem to necessarily happen when I am playing on main characters when I first login. It has happened enough times now to almost be a pattern in my book. I figured I would mention that and see if anyone else noticed it as well. Of course, there will never be true 'newbie' shards due to the nature in which the shard system works, but they could program the login servers to distinguish between the EGO of the characters logging and send them to 'preferred' shards...

There seems to be some sort of phasing going on. I see a lot of lowbie chatter when I'm on my 4kish character, but when we were doing the Christmas in July finale a few days ago, none of what anyone in that phase was typing came across in the phase I was in. Not Kiwi, not Altras, no one who was actually there with that group could be seen in chat, and no one who was asking questions on how to find them could be seen in theirs.

We eventually figured out what was going on and started phase hopping by relogging multiple times until we wound up in the same one they were in. Unfortunately, by the time we did, they were done and Kiwi was gone.

The "earn your way South" thought is flawed since there's very little campaign style progression and most of it is grinding XP/events.

Maybe adjusting the scaling is useful. But there's a definite difference between "everyone's the same" and everyone's damage is somewhat normalized.
When I started (just recently), I was doing acceptable in scores and co-ops, and then started topping a team after a couple thousand EGO (running with 5k+). Then when I started passing up the EGO levels of some of these older toons, I've started at least doubling the scores. If you took away the upward scaling from me, that means less score and less xp, and a much longer grind. Not that this game will see many new players, but let's not drive away the few that do come around.

Much better adjustments would be making platforms compatible with each other's world and/or updating the shard system so when we do have the occasional surge of players, we're not all lagged out because people pile on a single shard. The summer event hopping made playing so much less enjoyable.
PC-NA - IGN Neptuno / Learn about my really HUGE Neptunian Belt. No fat jokes please. Reached 6000 EGO in 10 weeks

I remember an old clan mate of mine, a very smart man that also worked with computers, and I were playing an event (I want to say it was an afflicted siege iirc) which was inside the shadow war circle. We could walk out of the afflicted siege circle and then the players in shadow war would become visible. Upon re-entering the afflicted siege circle we then lost sight of the shadow war players. This is how we defined 'Phasing' at the time which was quite awhile ago. It might have changed since then.

Edit: If by some chance that old clan mate reads this... then... I am sorry, it was a very difficult time which has only become more so. I apologize.
