Hey Dreadhly - I'll summarize your questions with the short answer since a lot of them have been asked before. ok?
1. The only difference between the classes is their starting weapon. Game starts you with a pistol and either (vetran=AR)(Mech=LMG)(Survivalist=Sniper)(Outlaw=S hotgun) Other than these thing. All the classes play the same.
2. No armor set bonus's. Armor is just for looks. The shield is out only defense. Headgear and Outfits are for looks and can be unlocked in many different ways.
3. Yes, each has their own look in the beginning.
4. 2-4 man dungeons yes, Ark fall open worl raid content yes. Heroic diff has not been mentioned, no lock outs.
5. Hard to give an answer for something that relies on personnal opinion to determine. So for me, I like the chat and grouping as it is with 1 exception. The chat window is small and goes away quickly. You miss most people convos because its there and gone before you know someone even said anything to begin with. But its easy to switch between area chat, group, private, clan. And its easy to group up (^-^)b
6. Not at this time and not at this time.
So let me end with a soapbox moment here since you, like myself have played WoW.
First off, any of my "no" or "Not at this time" responses are this way because either Trion has said no or they have said "We like that idea and will look into it". This is a good thing for us. Trion wants to make this game fun and exciting. With new dlc and expansions already in the works, with an active living game that can be changed freely anytime they want to. We can count on them fine tuning this game to fit the needs of the people playing it. So maybe no flame throwers for us (even though bad guys have them) doesn't mean we wont see those flamethrowers in the future. Ok?
Then as far as your comment on Wow and MMO expectations.
I need to cover this because i believe so many people forgot what WoW was like when it first came out. Wow had no PVP but open world and that was only on PVP servers. Wow had no clan or guild system like guild banks or anything other than clan chat. Wow had bugs and glitches and dungeons that didn't work. Laggy servers. No end game other than a few 40 man raid dungeons and Onyxia with i think 1 or 2 open world raid bosses.
So when you think to compare a 3rd person shooter that plays with a massive amount of people. Dont think of Wow which is a MMORPG and this game being a MMOTPS.
Its more fair to compare this game to Planetside? or MAG? But it has more of the RPG elements than those games which were just shooters.
This game wont have damage meters or set items or a crafting system where you specialize in any given artisan type job. There is crafting but only to the extent of breaking down the items you find and using those reagents to upgrade other items.
So try not to compare this game to WoW because they are two different game types.
Lastly, WoW as popular of an MMO it was took a HUGE majority of their ideas from other MMO's before them. So lets give credit to where credit is due when we talk about the staple of MMO's and who was the godfather of the MMO.
