I got my alpha invite while I was at work needless to say I took half day to play it.

Any chance to get alpha invitation? I wonder what is the best strategy to get alpha key here. For the last 3 weeks I tried to talk on chat during the live streaming, asking questions, answering some simple ones to newbies. Others just scream: I waaaaaant alpha, gimmie gimmie. I didn't get alpha. Did they? Dunno.
So I try hereI'm quite seasoned MMO and FPS player and betatester. Tested a ton of MMOs, tried my best to contribute to the game development reporting bugs and glitches.
I'm quite excited about the Defiance - it seems to be something different and I would like to play it (and test it for you). It's a win win - I play and you get a game tested for free![]()
i wish i could get into alpha also because im still undecided if i want to get it on pc along with my ps3 version i already have preordered =[
i really love a alpha invite. i love playing games and finding bugs to help make games better. always liked being a behind the seen kind of guy
Why? So you can see how shallow the game is?
If it is shallow, I'll see it during beta test. Alpha won't hurt.
A lot of people want to "play" the alpha. A few of us actually want to "test" the alpha.

That's so true. I just prefer to try to find glitches intentionally by doing things a noarmal player may or may not do during the testing phase. It helps pull out things the average player may not find.
On the contrary, I have seen a lot of people in the forum who want to be in the alpha just to play who don't really show any signs of testing and reporting their findings. That was the reason for my response.
That's the problem of all alphas and especially betas. People treat this as the early access or an opportunity to check the game before the purchase.
But this goes two ways. I've met bunch of developers paying to little attention to beta bug reports - just look at the launch of the Age of Conan or the STO. Funcom published the game which shouldn't go live for another year. Cryptic launched no Klingon content at all. Rushing games hurts players and the gaming industry.
