Lockbox: Tier 3 or Tier 4?

If you want to gamble go for tier 4, if you want to have a better rate of cost/item amount go for tier 3.

I've gotten orange gear from both, but since launch I've only been unlocking the tier 4's. Would really like to see the statistics on how much better the chance for higher quality loot is with tier 4 than the lower tiers. I have this nagging feeling that I might be better off just getting tier 3's.

RGN cannot be really measured simply by making statistics. You would need a pretty much infinite number of samples to match the proper percentages. Honestly anything under 10k samples is heavily biased and even up to 100k the results can be very unpredicted.

I would say teir 3, its all luck anyway. Youll get more weapon "chances" by buying teir 3's.

That really depends. If the chances for purple/orange is at least twice as high on tier 4 that one is gonna be worth more for sure.
