What IM saying that console players could probaly stick with this longer. PC guys hop on next game as it comes.
But that's the exact opposite of what happens.

The "big money" comes from endless amounts of useless downloadable content, pre-orders and millions spent on marketing. In the long-term, PC versions of games will generate the most revenue for the fact that they are always there, always available. And MMO games are as long-term as it gets, that's why most of them stay PC exclusives. Consoles will have different generations with no backwards compatibility and the bulk of their user base will jump on the next game that had better advertising than the one they played before.

I'd have to agree with you on this one. With that being said, I believe both PS3 and Xbox will have an enormous start to the game, simply because there isn't anything like it, but as soon as new systems start dropping, people will move on. I personally hope not, but thats just the nature of the beast.

    Sounds like a plan!
Sadly I don't own not a 5.1 sound system (instead some old, yet awesome Bose speakers) - but therefore a 42" TV linked to my computer.
    Hell yea!

    About the playerbase:
I'm quite certain that Defiance will be picked up by huge bunch of console gamers since there is nothing comparable on the market yet; but in the end the PC gamers will prevail.

lol if the new consoles are 400+ bucks and the economy the way it is youd be insane to think 90% of ps3 (or 360) players are gonna jump to the new console on day one... maybe by the end of 2014 sure.. but until then Defiance has at least a good 1 1/2 in it

Also not EVERYONE is a "next shiny thing" addict.. if game is good i play it regardless. lets see FFXI came to PS2 in the US in 2004 PS3 came out in 2006... i played FFXI for 8 years... do the math

Also why do ppl say xbox will be the second biggest but die first? why would the second biggest die before the 3rd lowest (ps3)? >.>

MMOs tend to be more popular in PC's. However the game almost begs to be played on a console. That said, people should be hoping that the game does well all around, regardless of the platform. Let's be civil about this.

Solid player base on all 3 systems would be nice, and a huge push in the right direction so far as forcing big developers into cross platform gaming for more upcoming games.

Well just because consoles have generations, that does not mean that Trion Worlds will not update the game for future consoles but I do agree PCs seem to be more stable with MMOs because PC's do noth ave generations, just upgrades and OS upgrades.

and leave the generation that started them up out to dry if they havent gotten the new consoles yet? thats a horrible business strategy lol
