Just remember, if you aren't watching the show through means that Syfy is monitoring or supports, then they don't see you watching it, and they judge it as unpopular. If they aren't hitting their viewership numbers, they cancel it, and I can't imagine a game that ties into a canceled show would last too long, so please make sure if you can, to watch through official channels.

Most american streaming sites wont allow people from outside the US, it's the same with syfys site. Reminds me about a quote from Futurama:

Fry: What do we care? We live in the United States.
Leela: The United States is part of the world.
Fry: Wow, I have been gone a long time.

IIRC SyFi in each country although part of a whole is ran as a separate channel, well it used to be, with little to no real connection to the US SyFi other than name.

Many of these channels will insist on being the control for that region and thus they will dictate where it can legally be viewed within their domain, this is to bring viewers to their channel and therefore their advertisers who ultimately pay to be seen.

This used to be quite common here in the UK where Sky TV would buy the rights to a show in the UK then show it on Sky One then about a year or so later they would sell it to the terrestrial channels to show all the time advertising that their viewers had seen it already and were watching the next season and thus better off subscribing to them. Also the fact that the UE in the EU isn't going to come with a making of DVD suggests (to me) that the show and affiliated materials are subject to contract negotiations atm.

It maybe that SyFi US and the production company and the distribution company (probably all owned by the same parent company) have put a clause in the contract saying it can be released to itunes or XBL or PSN a day or so after the show's second repeat or something like that and will share the revenue (and probably put on a "see it first on ...." type label) with the buyer.

This is all just supposition and educated guesses from years of fandom of various shows and is in no way an insider answer. I will be watching it on the UK SyFi (if it were released on XBL or itunes at the same time or just after I would buy it then buy the blu-ray when it's released too ... I'm a big geek so sue me :-P )

Also, I used to recruit for the Anarcho-Syndicalist Revolutionary Union <ASRU Ark Hunters> (on 360 NA), but no one was interested, and I don't know if I'll ever bother playing again.
