I made this mistake as well: slapping basic mods on some decent weapons only to find out I can't remove them now that I'm getting Green/Blue mods from side missions and even see them for sale (+ purple ones) in the faction vendors. Wish there was a Weaponsmith or someone in the game that could pay script/keycodes/resources to to do it for you.
And at the OP, 99ers have been kicking my teeth in too. Might be the shields =\ I was relying on the Sniper Rifle earlier when I ventured into the area as the headshots were taking care of them but 2 particular 99ers seem to void it's use. Now an automatic Shotgun seems to do the trick (chews through the shield). I might need to better mod an AR though for range as I'm having to close the distance with the Shotgun first to even do the damage (don't have Blur but Decoy helps distract them long enough for me to lay waste to most of them).
You can remove mods in the salvage matrix can't you? I was sure you can either retrieve mods, destroying the weapon, or remove mods and destroy them. They both need you to unequip the weapon as usual.
Stun grenades and electrical weapons work wonders on the 99ers and scrappers, I was struggling like you were when I first met shielded enemies, change up your tactics and try out different load outs till you find one that works.
Personally I switched to a shield that recharges after 2.5 seconds for quick recovery, and perks that reduce damage taken and increase crit when enemies are coming at you. Stun em, whittle them down then blast em as they charge you. Switch it up and good luck!
The pump action I have is an orange with explosive sub-type. So when I overcharge I can kill a mutant heavy in 7 rounds.
Where does one go to pick up new weapons? I love the SAW, but I haven't seen one in days. What am I missing? My FRC SAW XP bar is maxed. I assume that's hurting me somehow, but If you don't come across a new one, what are you supposed to do?
This is a Learn to play issue OP. The game is just fine in difficulty... If anything its too easy. Pretty much the only missions that gave any real challenge was Nim, and some of the darkmatter missions where you have like 20-30 guys assaulting your position, and the ones where they never seem to stop spawning.
