I already said I'm not really against micro-transactions. But surely $12 for a clothing skin is pushing the limits of gaming integrity. It is the same price as a monthly fee in a subscription based model (absurd!). A model which would generally give you these skins, color, and emotes included with the game for free.

And charging for emotes is just plain silly. A free MMO feature since the dawn of auto-flushing indoor plumbing, is now a micro-transaction? I can picture how well that would go over on a large MMORPG forum. I assure you - developer babies would probably be eaten. Yes, you can completely avoid the store entirely. But emotes should be put BACK into the game where they belong. Seeing a price tag put on them was quite a shock to me. I can't wait to pay another $20 for a chat system that actually works.

Yeah I agree it's too expensive, the prices need to be alot lower.

also agree on the fact paying for emotes in a social genre of game is ridiculous.

except the people who don't want to pay real money.... that's the point of the bits store only selling things you don't actually need.....

    Slightly?

Raising prices as much as 500% or more in some cases over what they were in Beta is not 'slightly'. Selling a recolored version of one outfit that costs 240 bits for 880 bits (367% increase) is not 'slightly'. In many cases, those outfits are recolors of items you can earn in the game, so there's no justification for charging 880 bits for a recolor.

Just to give some perspective, the least expensive package of bits is 400 for $5. That's 100 bits for $1.25. 880 bits is the equivalent of $11 for a recolored outfit. The original price of 240 is far more in line with what they're actually worth at approximately $3 in bits.

That's almost on a par with the ridiculously overpriced Cartel Store in another game. They sell armor (not cosmetic outfits) for ~$14 a pop. It's really hard to justify cosmetic outfits that have no benefit for the player at $11 each.

Some boosts went from 30 bits for a 24 hour boost to being 160 bits. That's a 533% increase from it's original pricing. At that same $1.25 per 100, you're now paying $2 per day ($60 per month!) for a boost that used to cost 37.5 cents per day ($11.25 per month).

I'd say that's quite a bit above and beyond 'slightly' expensive.

Those are usually acceptable prices for F2P games though. Free to play games are free to download and free to subscribe. Then they offer you micro transactions to unlock content, characters, level caps, and game enhancing items. This game however is Buy-to-play. We had to pay a full $60 for it. But then were told we have to pay for our emotes? At the overcharged prices of a F2P game?

It really rubs me the wrong way when I have to pay $5 for a /rub emote to rub me the wrong way.

While I personally would not pay the money to get an emote, your posts make it seem like you just came out of hibernation in a cave with no knowledge of whats going on around you. Try looking up information on all the other F2P games out there (both free and not so free). For the most part they all have stuff like this. Usually the biggest complaint is the "Pay 2 Win" games, where people can pay money to literally win the game, while you are complaining about fluff that doesnt actually give you an advantage over any other player. Sure, its still kind of dumb to me too, but I would rather see fluff than what some other games throw into their cash stores.

Even in a pay to play game like World of Warcraft, they still charged $25 dollars for in game mounts and made millions of dollars from all the people willing to pay. These cash shops exist because there are people willing to spend the money.

The ironic thing is that I can pretty much guarantee 90% of these "fanboys" defending the pricing haven't actually paid a penny yet.

The pricing is absurd and a complete turn off considering the amount(lack) of effort that has gone into them.

If you want to see a proper FTP model take a look at league of legends - new particles, new voices and new spell effects for a low cost in most situations.

    Affordable and useful.

By the way, can the term "ftp" stop being thrown around so casually? I Paid money for this game - as much as I paid for final fantasy, diablo 3, world of warcraft etc.

We all know the game isn't going to last longer than a month because the pr rep is a complete joker .... this is getting dull quickly. Look at the amount of people that still haven't been able to log in due to an I.P bug - Trion pretend it's not there and only mention XBOX difficulties.

Pretty funny if you ask me.

    Galactimus,

Appreciate your feedback, but know our store prices on items are competitive with many other games across the board. Also Emotes are not sold in the Bits store.
    Thanks
