I know it's sad,,, but i'd totally be happy to pay £5 for a defiance style (ie battered and singed) sombrero

what i dont get is wtf do u expect this huge whining thread is supposed to accomplish? clearly ppl in here disagree with it, clearly ppl are buying it, clearly its a small minority of people who somehow thinks its a ripoff to price an item they havent even paid for.

if u thinks its such a big deal, and a widespread outpouring of discontent, JUST DONT BUY IT!. the prices will come down if that is truly the case. if you are wrong they wont. 11+ pages whambulance driving isnt going to change it any faster.

list all the different ways you can think of to explain your point, give me more money breakdowns etc. it wont change my mind or the prices. you dont need it, dont buy it. u dont want it, dont buy it. honestly some of you need to get over it. This is exactly why the gaming community is going ****. this mentality of "if i cry enough itll change" is a joke.

and this could be hello kitty and id tell you the same. has nothing to do with being a fanboy as some of you use as a goto explanation of why someone disagrees with you. i just dont care what the prices in the store are, since again i dont need it or want it. let those willing to pay for it pay for it.

Inventory slots and boosts aren't bad. But again, $10 for a suit?
The Secret World originally shipped with full game price, plus sub AND cash shop fopr outfits that price Per character. Not account. People I know (only a minority mind) stumped up fopr them. Now TSW is buy to play. You can sub or pay for what they call grandmaster packs. These intially were lifetime subs, but without giving people much warning, they changed the pack to simply having a discount on all content and $10 or so worth of points to spend in the item store. Irrespective of if you had any use for them or not. I should also like to pointout, the lead developer of TSW himself said a while back on the community forums, he was fighting the marketing hard to stop them putting in buy to win items.

I can only reflect on this at the number of comments regarding the prices here not being an issue if you don;t wwant to buy them. TSW is not the only case it escalted and can continue to escalate, and spread into other areas to do with marketing.

Well I could say the same about your repeat dismissive posts telling people to effectively shut up saying things on a public forum, telling them to not express themselves, as if your the only one entitled to do that. No offense but of some of the people I have seen you up and down this board putting down, a fair few have been a hell of a lot more constructive than you have.

micro transaction, means "micro" for small exchanges. For instance the boosts to XP/Cash etc are I would say pretty reasonable priced.
When you look at in-game clothing the prices are way off. They should be 180 bits at the most each period, and anything above that is absurd. Since most end-users would never shell out unless the digital clothing was premium looking to them than they might pay more than 400 Bits, but it would have to be very appealing.

They honestly need to fix the ratio's for bits. It should be 2:1, 800 Bits for 400 MSP($5) or 3:1, than I can guarantee people even like myself would gladly spend some cash on bits to buy things in the Defiance store.

I put down fifty bucks on bits on launch day. Bought +60 inventory slots and have spent a chunk on clan boosts. Will probably spend all of the remainder on keeping the clan boosts going as well.

No regrets, honestly. I like Defiance a lot, warts and all.

Yeah, when I first saw that emoticons were for sale, I sort of grunted in disbelief. But to be honest, I'm okay with it ONLY IF the "items" are purely cosmetic.

The moment we start seeing top tier weapons for 20$ I will really worry. But T-shirts and hand-shakes.....meh

Edit: My mistake, I thought emoticons were for sale. Disregard my ignorant post

Emotes. We are now paying for Emotes ladies and gentlemen. These used to be fun little animations to improve social aspects of the game. Now they strip them away, slap a price tag on them and say "Look, if you want to shake our hand your going to have to put $5 in it first."

For just one easy payment of 880 bits YOU can own you're very own brand new set of.. clothes. That's right! For only $12 (USD), just 1/5th the price of the game itself, you can have a new t-shirt to run around in. Let me say that one more time in a sexy Canadian accent: Twelve dollars for a T-shirt...eh!

Want to make the ladies really turn their heads? By simply pouring gasoline on another dollar bill you can paint your vehicle another predefined color. For only $13 (USD) you can be the proud owner of the same vehicle painted slightly different which you may not even like. But never fear! With our "no refund" policy you're only stuck with your overpriced blunder.. forever!

Defiance: "You may have avoided paying $40 for our deluxe edition but don't worry; were gonna get'cha!"
so let me get this right.

you are *****ing because the defiance store, the store the support the massive cost of the mmo infrastructure of the game across 3 platforms, which help support the massive cost associated with devoloping new content...is only for mostly cosmetic item which have ZERO impact on gameplay and offer NO advantage to people with fatter wallets of normal gamer, and is COMPLETELY OPTIONAL... are you a bloody idiot? please go back to your pay to win games and leave us the hell alone.

Yeah, the pricing on some of this stuff is just plain silly, but you don't have to buy. So far I have not seen a reason to buy anything in this game. You appear to get more inventory slots every few EGO levels which was my only concern. Some of the so called F2P games get you with the inventory or character slots or classes.

F2P has become the expected model in NA now but it seems the ones who really benefit from this model are the producers of the game. They usually make far more money with this model than with subscription fees. Put free on the front of anything and most people will buy it.
