I'm still holding out hope though as they keep referring to this as Season 3, Season Finale, etc... as opposed to the Final Season or the Series Finale.

If we get a season 4 maybe Doc and Nolan can't find a suitable home for the Omec so Nolan starts to teach them about Earth Culture and such. It seems like there were a few who are now dead that were awakened that seemed to share T'vegin's mindset that they had to change their ways. So I'm sure there are more who probably also think/feel that way though it'll still be funny to see how the Omec will react when awakened to see a strange creature and an Indogene in charge of their ship.

An awesome end to the season. We have a good chance of getting a season 4 based on the ratings, when compared to other Syfy shows, but as with all shows it becomes more costly per season, so who knows.
R.I.P. Nolan's gun, did you see the look on his face when it was destroyed?
Honestly wasn't a huge fan of the writing this season. Any time a likable character was introduced (or focused on) you knew they were going to get killed off after awhile. The "villains" were also a bit similar in that they were genocidal maniacs who both killed their loved ones which sent them off the deep end before shortly being killed. And then it felt like the season finale was rushing to a conclusion that tied up all loose ends and essentially served as a series finale rather than a season finale.
It's really silly though to me because the town of Defiance was barely in any true threat. Ram'tak wasn't able to fully invade the town, neither were the Omek able to enslave everyone. It feels like they rushed to forced climaxes in those bits because they were constrained in terms of how much they could do within so many episodes. And the people who died weren't vital to the series in the end, outside of the McCauleys who were the main humans in town. But a lot of deaths felt unnecessary and forced for the sake of making it grimdark and showing that there isn't really ever a true happy ending in a post-alien-apocalypse world.
While it will be interesting to see if they do a Season 4, I'm not really holding my breath over it. Especially since the focus would likely be taken off of Nolan unless they pull a deus ex to bring him back.
Yeah.....
Definitely had a Series Finale flavor to it.
We'll see what 2016 brings.....
If anything.
